  • Connor Davis: Gets tryout with Philadelphia

Davis (shoulder) received a tryout with the Eagles on Monday, Howard Balzer of SI.com reports. Davis spent last season with the Browns on IR, and much of the 2020 season on the Jets' practice squad. The 27-year-old has played in the USFL, XFL and AAF, but he has yet to appear in an NFL game.

  • Connor Davis: Waived Saturday

Davis (shoulder) was waived from injured reserve Saturday, Aaron Wilson of Sportstalk 790 Houston reports. Davis was signed by the Browns in May, though he was never able to take the field for the team. He has been sidelined since Aug. 25 with a shoulder injury, and he will look to find a new opportunity once he returns to health.

  • Browns' Connor Davis: Placed on IR

Davis was placed on injured reserve with a shoulder injury Tuesday, Nate Ulrich of the Akron Beacon Journal reports. Davis hauled in four of five targets for 29 yards in Sunday's preseason win over the Giants, but he sustained a shoulder injury during the contest. Unless he works out a settlement with the team, the tight end will be forced to miss the 2021 campaign since he was placed on IR before the 53-man roster was finalized.

  • Browns' Connor Davis: Finds new home with Browns

Cleveland signed Davis to a contract Friday. Davis has yet to make his NFL debut since going undrafted out of Stony Brook back in 2018, but he'll now at least get to continue his development with the Browns. The 6-foot-8, 280-pound tight end spent time on the Jets' practice squad last season.

  • Connor Davis: Released by Jets

The Jets released Davis on Friday. Davis spent time on the Jets' practice squad last season, and he'll now look for a depth opportunity elsewhere. The 6-foot-8, 280-pound tight end spent time in the XFL and AFL prior to linking with the Jets.

  • Jets' Connor Davis: Stays with Jets on future contract

The Jets signed Davis to a reserve/future contract Monday. Davis joined New York's practice squad in November, but the 6-foot-8 tight end remains without a regular-season appearance. He's well-traveled, having served stints with the St. Louis BattleHawks of the XFL and the Birmingham Iron of the AAF before his time with Gang Green.

  • Connor Davis: Signs with Gang Green

The Jets signed Davis to the practice squad Tuesday, Ethan Greenberg of the team's official site reports. The Jets are apparently seeking depth at tight end after placing Trevon Wesco (ankle) on injured reserve last week, and Davis will get a chance to prove himself on the practice squad. The 6-foot-8, 280-pound tight end played for the St. Louis Battlehawks of the XFL last spring but never caught a pass. He has experience at offensive tackle and defensive end, too, making him a versatile player that the Jets hope to develop.
