Stephen is expected to start at defensive tackle in 2018, Bryan Henderson of ESPN.com reports.
Although Stephen is still rehabbing a meniscus injury he suffered in the divisional round of the playoffs, he's in line to jump Nazair Jones (ankle) in the depth chart and take over as a starter. A 2014 seventh-round pick, Stephen signed with the Seahawks on March 24 after a season that he accrued 28 tackles (nine solo) in 15 games. Stephen hasn't worked much as a full-time starter in his career, so it'll be interesting to see what how far his potential stretches.
Sharmar had surgery after suffering a meniscus injury in the Vikings' playoff run, but is expected to be healthy by OTAs. He spent his first four seasons in Minnesota, but will not look to earn a role on the Seahawks' defensive line.
Stephen was ruled out for the remainder of Sunday's divisional-round game against the Saints with a knee injury, Ben Goessling of the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.
Stephen exited in the first half and was initially tabbed questionable to return, but was ruled out following further evaluation after halftime. Jaleel Johnson should serve as the Vikings' primary option as reserve defensive tackle for the remainder of Sunday's game.
Stephen (ankle) doesn't appear on the injury report ahead of Sunday's NFC divisional-round matchup against the Saints.
Stephen injured his ankle in Week 16 against Green Bay and wasn't available for the regular-season finale against Chicago. However, he was able to participate in every practice the Vikings held this week, ultimately progressing to full-participant status by Friday's session. Now that he's cleared to play, the UConn product should be in store for his regular workload rotating in behind Linval Joseph and Tom Johnson.
