Webb recorded seven tackles (six solo), two passes defended and one interception during Sunday's 38-35 win over the Buccaneers.
Webb logged his first reception of the season Sunday, during a game in which New York's defense picked off Buccaneers' quarterbacks a total of four times. The veteran cornerback also notched his highest single-game tackle total of the season. Webb will look to record another strong outing against the Eagles in Week 12.
Webb is expected to start at outside cornerback across from Janoris Jenkins following Eli Apple's trade to the Saints, Art Stapleton of NorthJersey.com reports.
Webb had been manning the slot before Apple's departure, but the former will now start outside with Grant Haley appearing in the slot.
The 27-year-old spent the latter part of last year in Cleveland but didn't play in a single contest. As of right now, Webb will function as a depth corner, assuming he remains on the roster throughout the offseason and into the regular season.
Webb was released by the Browns on Thursday.
Webb didn't appear in a single game in 2017 despite a career best 11 passes defensed and 28 tackles with New Orleans in 2016. He'll look to catch on as a depth secondary player with another club for the 2018 season.
Webb was waived by the Browns on Thursday, Nate Ulrich of the Akron Beacon Journal reports.
Webb joined the Browns prior to Week 16 but did not play in Sunday's loss to the Bears. The 27-year-old has yet to make his 2017 debut and that seems unlikely to change with the final slate of regular season games only a few days away.
