Titans' Logan Woodside: Wins backup job
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Woodside officially won the backup quarterback job after the team cut Trevor Siemian, Erik Bacharach of The Tennessean reports.

Woodside's steady performance throughout training camp impressed the team enough to stick on the roster. A former seventh-round pick, this is the first time Woodside has been on an active NFL roster. Siemian is a candidate to join the team's practice squad.

Titans' Logan Woodside: Favored to win backup job
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Woodside has the "inside track" to the backup quarterback job in Tennessee, Turron Davenport of ESPN.com reports.

Selected by Cincinnati in the seventh round of the 2018 draft, Woodside failed to make the Bengals' roster but quickly resurfaced on the Titans' practice squad. He then moved to the short-lived AAF, where he completed 58.3 percent of his passes for 7.0 YPA (with seven TDs and seven INTs) for the San Antonio franchise. Woodside re-signed with Tennessee last summer and played well in the preseason -- 7.1 YPA, four TDs, zero INTs -- earning a spot on the practice squad before an arm injury sent him to injured reserve. He's now healthy for 2020 training camp, poised to compete with rookie seventh-round pick Cole McDonald for the right to serve as Ryan Tannehill's backup. The Titans' decision not to sign a veteran QB might be interpreted as a sign of confidence in Woodside, who reportedly remained heavily involved with the team while he was on IR last season.

Titans' Logan Woodside: Inks reserve/future deal
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Woodside (undisclosed) signed a reserve/future contract with the Titans on Monday.

Woodside spent time on Tennessee's practice squad during the 2019 season, though he was placed on the unit's injured list early September due to an undisclosed issue. The 2018 seventh-round pick is a developmental project, and he'll remain with the Titans to start the offseason.

Logan Woodside: Practice squad injured list
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

The Titans placed Woodside on their practice squad injured list Thursday, Erik Bacharach of The Tennessean reports.

It remains to be seen what sort of injury Woodside is dealing with. Barring an injury settlement, the 2018 seventh-round pick's designation will possibly prevent him the opportunity of being promoted to Tennessee's 53-man roster at any point in 2019.

Logan Woodside: Latches onto practice squad
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

The Titans signed Woodside to their practice squad Sunday, Paul Kuharsky of 104.5 The Zone Nashville reports.

Woodside spent training camp as the team's third quarterback and put together a fairly impressive resume across the team's four preseason contests. Despite connecting on just four of 13 pass attempts in the team's second exhibition, he completed 60.5 percent of his passes and averaged 7.1 yards per attempt overall. The Titans elected to keep only Marcus Mariota and Ryan Tannehill on their active roster, so if either one suffers an injury, Woodside could find himself locked into the backup role.

Woodside signed a contract with the Titans on Monday, Turron Davenport of ESPN.com reports.

Woodside spent three weeks on Tennessee's practice squad last season, and most recently played for the San Antonio Commanders in the AAF while throwing for 1,385 yards and seven touchdowns across eight games. Now back with the Titans, Woodside will work to carve out a reserve role behind Marcus Mariota (neck) and Ryan Tannehill.

Logan Woodside: Signs to Titans' practice squad
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Woodside signed to the Titans' practice squad Monday, Turron Davenport of ESPN.com reports.

A seventh-round selection by the Bengals in April's draft, Woodside couldn't beat out Jeff Driskel for the backup role. He'll now spend the season refining his craft, learning from veterans Marcus Mariota and Blaine Gabbert.
