Sickels signed a contract with the Redskins on Thursday, John Keim of ESPN.com reports.
Sickels has not appeared in an NFL game since 2017, when he played 19 defensive snaps for the Rams in a single contest. He'll now work to latch on as a depth option in Washington.
Sickels (undisclosed) cleared waivers and reverted to injured reserve, according to the league's official transaction log.
It still isn't clear what Sickels is dealing with. He's likely stuck on IR through the end of the season, barring an injury settlement.
Sickels was released by the Rams on Saturday.
Sickels suited up for just one contest as an undrafted rookie with the Rams in 2017, but he'll look to latch on with another squad with several weeks of training camp left on the schedule.
The Rams signed Sickels to a contract Thursday, Alden Gonzalez of ESPN reports.
Sickels is an undrafted rookie out of Penn State who will likely serve on special teams.
