Giants' Oshane Ximines: Undergoes surgery
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Ximines (shoulder) underwent rotator cuff surgery Wednesday, Pat Leonard of the New York Daily News reports.

The timing of Ximines' rotator cuff procedure seems to suggest that he won't be activated from IR, though the Giants designated him for a return to practice Nov. 23. With Kyler Fackrell (lower leg) now also on IR, Cam Brown and Carter Coughlin will both be candidates to handle increased defensive roles.

Giants' Oshane Ximines: Returns to practice
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

The Giants designated Ximines (shoulder) to return from injured reserve Monday.

The team will now have 21 days to evaluate Ximines before officially activating him from IR. The second-year linebacker is eligible to play this Sunday against the Bengals if the practice week goes well. He supplied just five tackles and no sacks over four games prior to his IR stint, so fantasy managers shouldn't be too concerned about his return.

Giants' Oshane Ximines: Shifts to IR
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

The Giants placed Ximines (shoulder) on injured reserve Friday, Jordan Raanan of ESPN.com reports.

Ximines hasn't practiced since suffering a shoulder injury Week 4, and he will now have to spend at least three weeks on IR before becoming eligible to return to the field. In his stead, Kyler Fackrell could handle a nearly every-down role on defense.

Giants' Oshane Ximines: Won't face Cowboys
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Ximenes (shoulder) is ruled out for Sunday's game in Dallas, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports.

Ximines was forced out of last weekend's loss to the Rams with a shoulder injury, and he'll need to spend at least one more week on the sideline in order to get healthy. Kyler Fackrell stands to handle an expanded defensive role as long as Ximines can't go.

Giants' Oshane Ximines: Leaves with shoulder injury
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Ximines was forced out of Sunday's game against the Rams with a shoulder injury, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports.

Ximines is listed as a starting outside linebacker, but it's basically a timeshare with Kyler Fackrell. If Ximines is unable to return Sunday, Fackrell could log an every-down workload.

Giants' Oshane Ximines: Records 4.5 sacks in 2019
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Ximines notched 25 tackles (11 solo), 4.5 sacks and one defended pass across 16 contests in 2019.

Ximines showed well as a rotational linebacker in his rookie season. The 2019 third-round pick will likely reprise a similar role for 2020, and he could be in line to garner additional snaps should he log an impressive offseason.

Giants' Oshane Ximines: Starting Sunday vs. Vkings
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Ximines is starting against the Vikings in Week 5, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports.

Ximines has seen significant work as a a backup this season, playing a majority of defensive snaps the past two weeks. With Lorenzo Carter (neck) inactive, Ximines is drawing the spot start and he'll figure to see an increase in workload for the day.

Giants' Oshane Ximines: Half-sack in win
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Ximines recorded three tackles, a half-sack and a pass defensed across 30 defensive snaps in Sunday's win over the Redskins.

The rookie now has 10 tackles and two sacks on the season while playing in just under 40 percent of the team's defensive reps. However, Ximines has seen a slight uptick in reps the past two weeks, a trend that could continue as the season progresses.

Giants' Oshane Ximines: Sack against Buccaneers
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Ximines recorded four tackles, all solo, and a sack across 40 defensive snaps in Sunday's win over the Buccaneers.

The third-round selection in April's draft has fared well thus far -- as he now has seven tackles and 1.5 sacks through his first three games while playing in less than 40 percent of the defensive snaps. If he can continue to play at this level, look for his reps to increase down the road.

Giants' Oshane Ximines: New York selects in third
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

The Giants selected Ximines in the third round of the 2019 NFL Draft, 95th overall.

Ximines becomes the first player from Old Dominion ever selected in the NFL Draft. At 6-foot-4, 253 pounds, he profiles as an outside linebacker for defensive coordinator James Bettcher's 3-4 scheme, and at the combine he posted slightly above-average numbers in the 40 (4.78 seconds), vertical (34 inches), and broad jump (118 inches). His production couldn't have been much better for the Monarchs, as he exceeded double-digit tackles for loss in each of the past three years. He'll compete with Markus Golden, Kareem Martin and Lorenzo Carter for snaps.
