Ellerbee signed with the Seahawks on Wednesday, Bob Condotta of The Seattle Times reports.
Ellerbee was brought in following the announcement that Mychal Kendricks (leg) will miss the remainder of the season. The 21-year-old has appeared in two games for Seattle this season, so a quick recalibration process is likely all he needs to be ready to go. He'll likely function as a reserve linebacker for the final three regular season contests.
Ellerbee was waived by the Seahawks on Monday, Bob Condotta of The Seattle Times reports.
Ellerbee's breakup comes on the heels of Mychal Kendricks' return from suspension. The 21-year-old played in just two games since arriving in Seattle earlier this season but has sat out the last five contests. Should Ellerbee land elsewhere, he'll likely function as a special teams contributor.
Ellerbee was promoted to the Seahawks' 53-man roster Saturday, Michael-Shawn Dugar of The Athletic reports.
Ellerbee was waived by Seattle in early November and has since been on the team's practice squad. The 22-year-old has yet to play a defensive snap over four games with the Chargers and Seahawks this season.
The Seahawks waived Ellerbee on Tuesday, Gregg Bell of The Tacoma News Tribune reports.
The Seahawks needed depth at cornerback more, so they signed Kalan Reed and let Ellerbee go. Ellerbee was on the Seahawks' roster for barely two weeks, and he played in one game Week 9 versus the Chargers. If he clears waivers, Ellerbee could land on the team's practice squad.
Ellerbee was waived by the Chargers earlier this week and lands in Seattle following the placement of T.J. Green (personal) on the exempt list. Expect Ellerbee to serve as a depth linebacker and special teams asset for the Seahawks going forward.
