Rams' Taylor Rapp: Destined for injured reserve
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Coach Sean McVay said that Rapp (knee) has a Grade 2 ligament sprain and will go on IR, Jourdan Rodrigue of The Athletic reports.

Rapp was forced to exit Sunday's win against the Seahawks, and it seems probable he will be on the shelf for at least a month. The Rams are hoping that the second-year safety can return to the field in short order, though Rodrigue reports his absence will likely extend four weeks or more. Four of Rapp's five starts on the season have come since Week 6, recording 44 tackles, one forced fumble and one interception during that span. In his absence, Jordan Fuller will be thrust into a prominent role at the strong safety position.

Rams' Taylor Rapp: MCL sprain likely
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Rapp (knee) is believed to have suffered a sprained MCL in Sunday's win over Seattle, and he will get an MRI to confirm that diagnosis, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.

Recovery times for MCL sprains vary, but Rapp will likely be facing a multiweek absence if the MRI confirms the injury. The safety is a key cog on defense for Los Angles, as Rapp had played 100 percent of the team's defensive snaps in three consecutive games prior to Sunday's injury.

Rams' Taylor Rapp: Done for the day
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Rapp (knee) has been downgraded to out for Sunday's game against the Seahawks, Eric D. Williams of reports.

Rapp was initially listed as doubtful after sustaining his knee injury, so to see him officially ruled out Sunday doesn't come as much of a surprise. Jordan Fuller will lock down the Rams' strong safety position as long a Rapp remains sidelined.

Rams' Taylor Rapp: Likely won't return Sunday
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Rapp was forced out of Sunday's game against the Seahawks with a knee injury, Jourdan Rodrigue of The Athletic reports.

Rapp isn't expected to return to Sunday's game. The second-year safety dealt with a knee injury during training camp as well, and it's possible that this is related. Jordan Fuller will handle the strong safety position for the remainder of the contest.

Rams' Taylor Rapp: Secures nine tackles
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Rapp finished with nine tackles (six solo) in Sunday's 24-16 loss to the 49ers.

Rams' Taylor Rapp: Leads team in tackles
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Rapp posted eight tackles (seven solo) in Sunday's 17-9 win over the Giants.

Rapp played every defensive snap because Jordan Fuller (shoulder) remained out of the lineup, and he ended up leading the team in tackles for a second straight week. A knee injury has been deemed one of the major causes for Rapp's demotion to a reserve role in favor of Fuller, but perhaps the 2019 second-round pick's recent performance will allow him to retake the starting gig.

Rams' Taylor Rapp: Takes advantage of playing time
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Rapp recorded seven tackles (six solo) during Sunday's 35-32 loss to Buffalo. He played 55 of 62 defensive snaps.

Starting safety Jordan Fuller (shoulder) was injured in the second quarter and didn't return during Sunday's contest, so Rapp saw an uptick in playing time and turned in a solid fantasy showing. Rapp was selected in the second round of the 2019 NFL Draft, started 10 games and racked up 100 tackles for the Rams last year. However, a preseason knee injury allowed Fuller to usurp Rapp for the starting job. Their fortunes may be reversed now. If Fuller misses time, Rapp should return to being a respectable fantasy option in most IDP settings.

Rams' Taylor Rapp: Potential demotion
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Rapp played behind rookie sixth-round pick Jordan Fuller against Dallas on Sunday, finishing with just three tackles to Fuller's team-leading eight.

Jourdan Rodrigue of the Athletic reported that coach Sean McVay said Rapp, a presumed starter going into 2020, was not injured. McVay also said "Rapp continues to be a huge part of" the Rams defense, but it's hard to see how Rapp plays much if Fuller is logging starter-level snaps. Rapp posted 100 tackles on 834 snaps as a rookie second-round pick last year, so if he was demoted in favor of Fuller, then it's a rather shocking turn.

Rams' Taylor Rapp: Back at practice
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Rapp (knee) returned to practice Tuesday, Lindsey Thiry of reports.

Rapp missed roughly two weeks of practice while dealing with a knee issue, but his participation Tuesday is enough to dispel any worries about his Week 1 availability. The 22-year-old safety is locked in as a starter, and he should offer weekly IDP relevance.

by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Coach Sean McVay said Thursday that he expects Rapp (knee) to be available Week 1 versus Dallas, Jourdan Rodrigue of The Athletic reports.

Rapp had a "dynamic" day of work with athletic trainers according to Rodrigue, so it looks as though his recovery is proceeding on track. The starting free safety is coming off an excellent rookie season in which he notched 100 tackles (62 solo), eight defended passes and two interceptions across 15 contests.

by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Coach Sean McVay said Sunday that he's hopeful Rapp (knee) will be available for Sept. 13's season-opener against the Cowboys, Lindsey Thiry of reports.

McVay also said he's hopeful to have Rapp back at practice within a week. The starting safety has remained off the field since suffering a knee injury during Tuesday's practice. When healthy, Rapp should return consistent fantasy value in IDP formats.

Rams' Taylor Rapp: Out with knee issue
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Rapp (knee) should return "in the next week or so," per coach Sean McVay, Stu Jackson of the Rams' official site reports.

The injury has been dubbed relatively minor, but fantasy managers would feel more comfortable if the sophomore was on the field preparing for the beginning of the season. Rapp posted solid numbers down the stretch last year with 68 tackles (45 solo), two interceptions, six passes defensed and a fumble recovery through the final nine games of the campaign and should be a reliable asset in most IDP settings again in 2020.

Rams' Taylor Rapp: Sits out with minor issue
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Head coach Sean McVay said Rapp didn't practice Tuesday due to a minor knee injury, Jourdan Rodrigue of The Athletic reports.

Rapp enjoyed an excellent rookie season with 100 tackles, eight pass breakups and two interceptions over 15 games, so it's good news that this is just a minor issue. The 22-year-old safety will seek a quick return to training camp to start preparing for the 2020 campaign.

Rams' Taylor Rapp: Turns in excellent second half
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Rapp recorded six tackles (four solo), an interception and a pass defensed during Sunday's 31-24 win over Arizona.

The strong showing continued an excellent second-half surge consisting of 68 tackles (45 solo), two interceptions, six passes defensed and a fumble recovery through nine games for the rookie. Rapp emerged as a reliable contributor in the tackles column while also showing big-play potential. He projects to be a consistent contributor in a majority of IDP settings for the 2020 fantasy season.

by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Rapp made 10 tackles (three solo) in Sunday's 44-21 loss to the Cowboys.

The rookie second-round pick out of Washington brought his tackle total to 89 this year, ranking third on the team behind Cory Littleton (124) and Eric Weddle (95). Rapp continues to be an every-down player, and this was his third double-digit tackling effort of the year. He'll look to stay on track in Week 16 against the 49ers.

Rams' Taylor Rapp: Records first INT of career
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Rapp notched two solo tackles, two defended passes and one interception, which he returned for a touchdown during Sunday's 34-7 win over the Cardinals.

Rapp's first career interception came in the form of a pick-six of Kyler Murray. The rookie second-round pick also nabbed a pass earlier in the Week 13 contest, but the play was called back due to a pass interference penalty on Nickell Robey-Coleman. Rapp will look to bounce back to his usual strong tackle numbers against the Seahawks in Week 14.

Rams' Taylor Rapp: Adds 10 more tackles
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Rapp registered 10 tackles (six solo) and one pass defensed in Monday's 45-6 loss to the Ravens.

Rapp has averaged nearly 10 tackles per game over the Rams' past four contests, taking advantage of an increased snap share since fellow safety John Johnson (shoulder) was placed on IR in mid-October.
