Colts' Grover Stewart: Inks three-year extension
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Stewart signed a three-year, $30 million contract with the Colts on Saturday, Mike Chappell of Fox 59 News Indianapolis reports.

Stewart was set to become a free agent in March, and his new contract will lock him down in Indianapolis through the 2023 season. The 27-year-old defensive tackle has been impressive this season in a run-stuffing role, recording 36 tackles through 10 games.

Colts' Grover Stewart: Starts at nose tackle
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Stewart started at nose tackle and had four tackles and 0.5 tacks for a loss in Sunday's loss at Jacksonville.

Stewart has just three career sacks, as he's a run stuffer in the Indy defense.

Colts' Grover Stewart: Generates three sacks in 2019
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Stewart recorded 30 tackles and three sacks over 16 games in 2019.

Stewart started 13 games in his third pro season, and he achieved career highs in both tackles and sacks. He didn't post a sack over his first two years in the league, and he only notched one quarterback pressure in 2018 compared to 10 this season. Stewart's heading into the final year of his contract, and he's in line for starting duties again in 2020.

by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Stewart (knee) returned to Sunday's game against the Panthers, George Bremer of The Anderson Herald Bulletin reports.

Stewart exited the game with the knee injury in the second quarter, but quickly made his return to the field. Now cleared to play, he's expected to resume his starting role across the team's defensive line.

Colts' Grover Stewart: Leaves Sunday's game
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Stewart (knee) is questionable to return to Sunday's game against the Panthers, Andrew Walker of the Colts' official site reports.

It's unclear how Stewart picked up the injury, but he was forced to exit the contest in the second quarter. With Stewart sidelined, the only healthy defensive tackles on the roster currently are Margus Hunt, Tyquan Lewis and Trevon Coley.

Colts' Grover Stewart: Big impact against Chiefs
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Stewart registered two solo tackles and a sack in Sunday's 19-13 win over the Chiefs.

The Colts deployed Stewart for 43 of a possible 61 defensive snaps (70 percent), and he finished ahead of Margus Hunt (25 percent) for the second straight week. Stewart's usage paid dividends as well, as he took down Patrick Mahomes in the fourth quarter to help hold onto the lead. Stewart appears to be creeping into a starting role on defense, although the IDP upside is low with just two tackles over the last three games.

Colts' Grover Stewart: Active Week 2
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Stewart (shoulder) is active for Sunday's game against the Redskins.

Stewart was a full participant in Friday's practice session, and it's not surprising to see he is active Sunday. He'll be a priority backup along the defensive line and should see some extra snaps with Denico Autry (ankle) sidelined for the game.

Colts' Grover Stewart: Limited reserve role
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Stewart played 22 snaps on defense but didn't have a tackle in Sunday's loss at the Bengals.

The 2017 fourth-round draft pick had just 23 tackles in 15 games last season and looks set to have a limited role again in 2018. However, his value is primarily as a run stuffer, which may not lead to many high tackle totals in any scenario.

Colts' Grover Stewart: Headed to Indianapolis
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

The Colts selected Stewart in the fourth round of the 2017 NFL Draft, 144th overall.

Stewart dominated the competition in the Southern Conference at Albany State. He was a three-time first-teamer in the Southern Conference and has good size at 6-foot-4, 334 pounds, but Stewart will have a learning curve at the next level as he adjusts to NFL competition. Stewart is a project with upside, but some may consider him a reach even at the bottom of the fourth round.
