Halverson has won both of his starts at the AHL level this season, allowing just two goals on 47 shots. It was his first NHL start, and the loss wasn't on him. As Bolts coach Jon Cooper said in the post-game scrum, Halverson's teammates simply didn't play well enough in front of their netminder, especially against a gritty team that was hungry to claw its way to a wild-card spot. Halverson was taken by the Rangers two rounds before Igor Shesterkin in the 2014 NHL Entry Draft but hasn't played in the NHL since his lone game for the organization in 2017-18. Since then, he played in the ECHL and Germany's second division before earning an AHL contract with Syracuse last season. Halverson split his time between the AHL and ECHL in 2023-24 before becoming Syracuse's starter in the Calder Cup Playoffs. He's a long shot, but he has a dream.
