  • Flyers' Travis Konecny: Signs eight-year extension

Konecny signed an eight-year, $70 million contract extension with the Flyers on Thursday.

The deal will begin in the 2025-26 season as Konecny has one more year at $5.5 million on the six-year deal he signed with the Flyers in September of 2019. Konecny had 33 goals and 68 points in 76 regular-season appearances last season -- both career highs. The 27-year-old will see first-line time, as well as first-unit power-play action in 2024-25, and could hit the 35-goal and 75-point mark, if he manages to remain healthy.

  • Flyers' Travis Konecny: Shortie seals win

Konecny scored a shorthanded goal in Saturday's 1-0 win over New Jersey.

Konecny has an NHL-best six shorthanded goals this season. It's the highest total in an NHL season since Michael Grabner did it in 2018-19. He was cheating a bit on the play and got lucky when Nick Seeler poked the puck into the neutral zone. Scott Laughton backhanded a pass to Konecny, who broke in alone and wired a wrist shot from the slot past Kaapo Kahkonen for the lone tally of the contest. It was also Konecny's 400th point in the NHL.

  • Flyers' Travis Konecny: Goal, assist in win

Konecny notched a goal and an assist in Thursday's 4-1 victory over the Rangers.

Konecny picked up an assist on Cam York's opening first-period tally before extending Philadelphia's lead to 3-1 in the final minute of the second, beating Jonathan Quick with a wrister off the rush. It was Konecny's first multi-point game since March 26 -- he'd gone six games without a goal, logging just two assists in that span. Overall, the 27-year-old winger is up to 32 goals, a new career high, and 67 points through 74 games this season.

  • Flyers' Travis Konecny: Two points in OT loss

Konecny produced a goal and an assist in Tuesday's 6-5 overtime loss to the Rangers.

It's the 27-year-old's third multi-point performance in the last eight games, and Konecny appears to be fully recovered from the upper-body injury he suffered in late February that cost him six contests. Tuesday's tally gave him 31 on the season, tying the career high he set in 2022-23, and his 63 points also establishes a new personal high.

  • Flyers' Travis Konecny: Reaches 30 with two-goal effort

Konecny scored two goals, one on the power play, in Saturday's 3-2 win over the Bruins.

He scored Philly's first two goals on the night, his first multi-goal performance since Jan. 4. Konecny is up to 30 goals on the season, the second straight campaign he's reached that plateau, and he needs only two more to surpass his high-water mark of 31, which he set in 2022-23. His 61 points also tie his career high, and the Flyers have 11 more games on their schedule for Konecny to establish some new personal bests.

  • Flyers' Travis Konecny: Ready to return

Konecny (upper body) is set to return to the lineup Thursday versus the Panthers.

Konecny's six-game absence will come to a close, and he'll take Olle Lycksell's spot in the lineup. The 26-year-old Konecny had five goals and seven assists over the seven contests before he was out of action, so he should be a big boost to the Flyers' offense against a formidable opponent.

  • Flyers' Travis Konecny: Not at practice

Konecny (upper body) is not practicing Thursday, Jordan Hall of NBC Sports Philadelphia reports.

Konecny has missed the last three games and coach John Tortorella said Tuesday that there is no timetable for his return. Konecny has 27 goals and 54 points in 57 games this season. Tyson Foerster has taken over Konecny's spot on the top line alongside Scott Laughton and Owen Tippett. Consider Konecny doubtful for Friday's game in Washington.

  • Flyers' Travis Konecny: No timeline to return

Head coach John Tortorella told reporters Tuesday that he is unsure when Konecny (upper body) will be available again, Kevin Kurz of The Athletic reports.

That's an ominous statement from the notoriously tight-lipped bench boss. Konecny has already missed three straight games, which makes him a candidate for injured reserve barring a sudden return to practice in the near future. In Konecny's absence, Bobby Brink may be able to hold onto a place in the lineup.

  • Flyers' Travis Konecny: Still sidelined

Konecny (upper body) won't play Tuesday against the Lightning, Kevin Kurz of The Athletic reports.

Konecny will miss a third straight game with his upper-body issue. The 26-year-old forward was on a tear prior to suffering his injury, racking up five goals and 12 points over his last seven games. With Konecny still on the mend, look for the recently-recalled Bobby Brink to draw into the lineup versus Tampa Bay.

  • Flyers' Travis Konecny: Remains out Sunday

The Flyers will be without Konecny for a second straight game after the winger was hurt in practice Friday. • Flyers' Travis Konecny: Will not play Saturday

Konecny (upper body) will not play Saturday against the Rangers after he was hurt at Friday's practice.

Konecny's injury is considered minor, so his status for Sunday's tilt in Pittsburgh is still to be determined. He has 27 goals and 54 points in 57 contests this season. Konecny will be replaced in the lineup by Tyson Foerster, who returns to action after missing four games with a lower-body injury.

  • Flyers' Travis Konecny: Suffers undisclosed injury

Konecny exited Friday's practice because of an undisclosed injury, Jordan Hall of NBC Sports Philadelphia reports.

Konecny got off the ice under his own power, but he seemed to be in discomfort and didn't rejoin his teammates for the remainder of practice. There was no update on his status after the skate, so it's hard to know what his chances are of playing Saturday versus the Rangers. If Konecny and Tyson Foerster (lower body) are both unavailable, then Philadelphia will likely need to call up a forward, possibly Olle Lycksell, who was returned to AHL Lehigh Valley on Thursday.
