Hayes has four goals and three assists over his last five outings in his best stretch of the season. Overall, he's at 14 points in 32 appearances with the IceHogs this year. He had just 15 points in 50 regular-season outings in 2024-25, so this is progress, but it's unlikely to be enough to make a call-up imminent.

Hayes opened the season on a 17-game goal drought before double-dipping in this high-scoring contest. The 21-year-old winger had just five points through 18 outings to begin his second AHL campaign. A third-round pick from 2022, Hayes doesn't appear to be close to getting his NHL debut, given his current lackluster production.
