Brzustewicz's promotion would seem to indicate that there is an injury among the Flames' blueliners ahead of Monday's game versus the Sabres. While the 21-year-old defenseman is far from a lock to play, he could offer the team some offensive upside, having tallied four goals and eight helpers in 23 minor-league games for the Wranglers.

Brzustewicz scored twice in AHL Calgary's 4-3 win over Coachella Valley on Saturday.
Brzustewicz is showing plenty of offense early in the AHL campaign, logging three goals and three helpers over six contests. The 20-year-old defenseman still needs some time in the AHL, but if the struggling Flames start selling early this year, he could be in line for a call-up, especially if Rasmus Andersson is one of the players on the move. Like Andersson, Brzustewicz is a right-shot defenseman.

Brzustewicz made his NHL debut Thursday against the Kings and recorded a hit, two PIM and a plus-2 rating while being held pointless in 18:23 of ice time. However, he'll head back to the minors to help the Wranglers in the Calder Cup Playoffs.

Brzustewicz hasn't yet made his NHL debut, but he'll join the Flames ahead of Thursday's regular-season finale in Los Angeles. Over 69 appearances with the Wranglers this year, he's recorded five goals, 26 assists and 12 PIM.
