  • Flames' Hunter Brzustewicz: Nets lone goal in loss

Brzustewicz scored a goal on three shots in Saturday's 4-1 loss to the Kraken. This was his second goal of the season. Brzustewicz opened the scoring 1:11 into the second period, but the Kraken answered less than a minute later and never looked back. Brzustewicz has gotten to play regularly down the stretch, and that includes some power-play time on the second unit in addition to top-four minutes at even strength. The 21-year-old blueliner is at two goals, seven points, 32 shots on net, 22 hits, 16 blocked shots and a minus-1 rating over 31 appearances this season.

  • Flames' Hunter Brzustewicz: Collects pair of helpers

Brzustewicz registered two assists, including one on the power play, and added two hits and a plus-2 rating in Saturday's 7-3 win over the Canucks. Brzustewicz has three assists over the last four contests. He's played in seven straight games and should have a clear path to stay into the lineup since Joel Hanley (upper body) is set to miss the rest of the season and Yan Kuznetsov (upper body) is still battling his injury. Brzustewicz has collected five points, 26 shots on net, 14 blocked shots, 14 hits, six PIM and a plus-1 rating over 26 appearances as a rookie this season.

  • Flames' Hunter Brzustewicz: Summoned from minors

Brzustewicz was recalled from AHL Calgary by the Flames, the team announced Sunday. The injury to Zach Whitecloud (upper body) on Saturday created a hole for the Flames on the back end that Brzustewicz has likely been recalled to fill. If the 21-year-old Brzustewicz gets into a game, it will be his first since Jan. 29. He has played 18 NHL games overall on the season, recording one goal and one assist in those contests.

  • Flames' Hunter Brzustewicz: Returns to AHL

Brzustewicz was reassigned to AHL Calgary on Wednesday. Brzustewicz was scratched for a third straight game Wednesday versus the Oilers. The 21-year-old defenseman will get consistent playing time at least through the Olympic break while with the Wranglers, but it's likely he'll be back with the big club when the NHL schedule resumes.

  • Flames' Hunter Brzustewicz: Scores first NHL goal

Brzustewicz scored a goal in Sunday's 4-3 overtime loss to the Ducks. Brzustewicz's first NHL goal gave the Flames a 2-0 lead at 7:56 of the first period. The 21-year-old defenseman has been scratched for four of the Flames' 12 contests in January, which is likely part of the development curve for him. He'll compete with Brayden Pachal and Joel Hanley for third-pairing minutes until Zayne Parekh (upper body) returns from a conditioning assignment at AHL Calgary.

  • Flames' Hunter Brzustewicz: Elevated from minors

Brzustewicz was called up from AHL Calgary on Monday. Brzustewicz's promotion would seem to indicate that there is an injury among the Flames' blueliners ahead of Monday's game versus the Sabres. While the 21-year-old defenseman is far from a lock to play, he could offer the team some offensive upside, having tallied four goals and eight helpers in 23 minor-league games for the Wranglers.

  • Flames' Hunter Brzustewicz: Sent back down

Brzustewicz was assigned to AHL Calgary on Friday. Brzustewicz made his NHL debut Thursday against the Kings and recorded a hit, two PIM and a plus-2 rating while being held pointless in 18:23 of ice time. However, he'll head back to the minors to help the Wranglers in the Calder Cup Playoffs.

  • Flames' Hunter Brzustewicz: Called up by NHL club

Brzustewicz was recalled from AHL Calgary on Wednesday. Brzustewicz hasn't yet made his NHL debut, but he'll join the Flames ahead of Thursday's regular-season finale in Los Angeles. Over 69 appearances with the Wranglers this year, he's recorded five goals, 26 assists and 12 PIM.
