Canadiens' Gianni Fairbrother: Exits COVID-19 protocols
Fairbrother departed the NHL's COVID-19 protocols and was reassigned to AHL Laval on Monday.
Fairbrother has tallied six points over 16 appearances with AHL Laval this season. The 21-year-old has improved chances of being elevated to the active roster this season as Josh Brook (knee) and Shea Weber (ankle) are sidelined with long-term injuries. However, it's likely Fairbrother will remain primarily an AHL skater.

Canadiens' Gianni Fairbrother: Elevated to taxi squad
Fairbrother was promoted to the Habs' taxi squad Monday.
Fairbrother has notched one goal and five helpers in 16 minor-league contests for Laval in his first full-time professional season. Selected by the organization in the third round of the 2019 NHL Draft, the 21-year-old defenseman shouldn't be expected to get into an NHL game any time soon, barring a run of blueliners landing in the COVID-19 protocols.
