  • Hurricanes' Patrick Brown: On shuttle to AHL

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(2/17/18) Brown was reassigned to AHL Charlotte on Saturday.

Brown was held pointless through 14 games last season, and he hasn't played at all this campaign, so he's much better off in the AHL at this juncture. Presumably, he'll get meaningful minutes at that rank to refine his game.

Hurricanes' Patrick Brown: Jumps to big club

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(2/13/18) Brown was recalled from AHL Charlotte on Tuesday.

Brown hasn't suited up for a NHL contest yet, but he does have 28 games on his resume from the previous three seasons, recording one goal, one assist and a minus-6 rating. The 25-year-old has been strong in the minors this campaign, accruing six goals, 14 helpers, 44 PIM and a plus-16 rating in 44 games for AHL Charlotte. Brown was called up to provide depth to the Hurricanes' forwards, and his first chance to suit up will be Thursday in New Jersey.

Hurricanes' Patrick Brown: Sent back to AHL

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(11/12/17) Brown was reassigned to AHL Charlotte on Sunday.

Brown hasn't appeared in a game so far in 2017-18, and with Lee Stempniak (back) finally ready to return to the roster, Brown will head down to the minors. The 25-year-old put up 28 points in 66 games last season in the AHL, but unless injuries arise, Brown will likely stay in the minors for the year.

Hurricanes' Patrick Brown: Called up to parent club

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(10/31/17) Brown was recalled from AHL Charlotte on Tuesday.

The Michigan native has made some spot-starts at the highest level over the years, but he's yet to make his 2017-18 debut. Carolina doesn't take the ice for a game until Thursday, so there's a chance that Brown gets returned to the top development affiliate before that contest. As it stands now, only Lee Stempniak (upper body) and defenseman Brett Pesce (back) are injured from the Carolina roster.

Hurricanes' Patrick Brown: Signs one-year deal

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(6/27/17) Brown penned a one-year, two-way contract with Carolina on Tuesday worth $650,000 at the NHL level.

Brown was somewhat productive in the minors this past season, as he tallied 12 goals and 16 helpers in 66 outings, but he could never quite find his scoring touch in his 14 NHL contests. While the center averaged a mere 9:43 of ice time in those pointless appearances, he evidently showed general manager Ron Francis enough to warrant another season in the organization.
