  • Flames' Andrew Mangiapane: Missing remainder of season

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(3/12/18) Mangiapane is set to undergo a shoulder operation that will end his 2017-18 campaign.

Despite failing to log a point in 10 games with Calgary, Mangiapane's second professional season can be considered a resounding success. After putting up 20 goals and 41 points in 66 games for Stockton a season ago, Mangiapane elevated his play to score 21 goals and 46 points in just 39 AHL contests in 2017-18. Mangiapane will be hoping to be healthy for start of next season's training camp and will likely push for an NHL roster spot throughout the campaign.

Flames' Andrew Mangiapane: Hits minors after replacements arrive

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(2/26/18) Mangiapane was assigned to AHL Stockton, Pat Steinberg of Sportsnet 960 The Fan reports.

The Flames just acquired for two forwards -- Chris Stewart from waivers and Nick Shore from a trade -- so with Kris Versteeg (hip) and Marek Hrivik (undisclosed) expected to return from injured reserve at some point, Calgary will have a crowded lineup soon. Mangiapane has yet to post a point in 10 NHL games, so he'll be the odd man out.

Flames' Andrew Mangiapane: Promoted to parent club

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(2/24/18) Mangiapane was recalled from AHL Stockton on Saturday, Aaron Vickers of NHL.com reports.

Mangiapane has been a nightmare for opposing AHL goalies this season, as he's accumulated 19 goals and 23 assists through 36 games. However, he could stand to be more confident on hockey's grandest stage, having posted a minus-3 rating without any points through nine contests. Mangiapane qualifies as a prospect, but he's probably someone you can live without as far as fantasy games are concerned.

Flames' Andrew Mangiapane: Sent back to minors

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(2/5/18) Mangiapane was reassigned to AHL Stockton on Monday.

Considering Mangiapane is averaging a mere 8:28 of ice time in his limited outings (nine), fantasy owners shouldn't be surprised to see him headed back to the Heat. The move will allow the 21-year-old to secure more consistent minutes on a night-to-night basis. In a corresponding transaction, the Flames promoted Marek Hrivik, who has 30 points in 32 minor-league contests.

Flames' Andrew Mangiapane: Will return to NHL after break

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(1/27/18) Mangiapane will return to Calgary after the NHL's All-Star break, Wes Gilbertson of the Calgary Sun reports.

Mangiapane was replaced on the AHL's All-Star roster as the key indication that he'll rejoin the Flames for Tuesday's home game against the Golden Knights. Known for his quickness and smooth skating ability, Mangiapane has eight hits and four blocked shots through his first eight NHL games, but that first NHL point has been elusive.
