Hurricanes' Jake Bean: Named to camp roster
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Bean has been included in the Hurricanes' Phase 3 training camp roster.

Bean led the AHL in blue-line scoring with 48 points in 59 games, so his inclusion on the roster shouldn't come as a surprise. Given his offensive upside, the team could opt to utilize the Calgary native in a playoff contest if another defenseman picks up an injury. In addition to Bean, the organization added forwards Steven Lorentz and Max McCormick and netminder Anton Forsberg.

Hurricanes' Jake Bean: Leading blue line point producer
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Bean was the No. 1 defenseman in the AHL this season with 48 points in 59 contests.

Despite his high production value in the minors, Bean hasn't been able to secure a call-up to Carolina this season, though if the league restarts with expanded roster sizes, he should be a top candidate. Thanks to his entry-level deal sliding twice, the 21-year-old will still be under contract next year and should get a chance to fight for a spot on the Opening Night roster.

Hurricanes' Jake Bean: Shipped down to minors
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Bean was reassigned to AHL Charlotte on Friday, Lance Hornby of The Toronto Sun reports.

With the 'Canes knocked out of the postseason, Bean will join Haydn Fleury and Patrick Brown with the Checkers in order to bolster the team's ranks. The minor-league club opens up a best-of-seven series with AHL Toronto on Friday, so Bean may have to wait a day or two to slot into the lineup. The 20-year-old logged just two NHL appearances this season, in which he recorded two PIM, one shot and one hit while averaging 8:28 of ice time. Given Carolina's depth on the blue line, Bean likely will have to settle for a fringe role again next season and could spend most of his time in the minors.

Hurricanes' Jake Bean: Recalled from minors
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Bean was promoted from AHL Charlotte on Monday, TSN reports.

Bean's flip-flopping between leagues will likely continue until AHL Charlotte is eliminated from the postseason and the Canes can make their Black Aces promotions. The youngster figures to be the top option to slot into the lineup should Carolina pick up another injury on the blue line.

Hurricanes' Jake Bean: Shuttled back to minors
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Bean was reassigned to AHL Charlotte on Sunday.

Like forward Patrick Brown, Bean is with the big club under emergency conditions, so both are required to be sent down to the AHL when they aren't in the lineup. Bean should rejoin the Hurricanes ahead of Game 3.

Hurricanes' Jake Bean: Dropped to minors
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Bean was reassigned to AHL Charlotte on Thursday, TSN reports.

Since Bean was likely brought up under emergency conditions, this move figures to be a paper transaction after the defenseman failed to crack the lineup against the Bruins for Game 1 on Thursday. Fantasy owners should expect the Calgary native to be called up again ahead of Game 2 on Sunday, although he'll likely sit as a healthy scratch for a second consecutive contest.

Hurricanes' Jake Bean: Recalled from minors
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Bean was promoted from AHL Charlotte on Monday.

With Trevor van Riemsdyk (upper body) facing a potential lengthy absence, the Canes wasted no time calling in reinforcements on the blue line. The 20-year-old Bean likely won't break into the lineup -- Haydn Fleury figures to slot into the third pairing -- but will provide some emergency depth.

Hurricanes' Jake Bean: Clears path for forward
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Bean was reassigned to AHL Charlotte on Friday.

In a corresponding move, the Hurricanes decided to call up forward Aleksi Saarela as an insurance option in case Jordan Martinook (lower body) can't give it a go for Game 5 against the Capitals on Saturday. Bean made his NHL debut during the regular season, adding a minor penalty with one hit and an empty shot on goal between a pair of contests in the fall.

Hurricanes' Jake Bean: Ascends to big club
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

The Hurricanes recalled Bean from AHL Charlotte on Sunday.

Bean only has two games of NHL experience, and he didn't record a point in either. The Hurricanes clearly believe Bean can help their playoff run, as he has 44 points in 70 AHL games to rank first among AHL rookie defensemen. There's still four days until thursday's playoff opener versus the Capitals, so the 20-year-old has plenty of time to get acclimated with the big club.

Hurricanes' Jake Bean: Demoted to minors
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Bean was shipped down to AHL Charlotte on Friday, Sara Civian of The Athletic reports.

Bean appeared in just two games this season, in which he was held off the scoresheet and tallied one goal, one hit and two PIM while averaging 8:28 of ice time. The 20-year-old figures to remain atop the list of potential call-ups should further blue-line injuries pop up this season.

Hurricanes' Jake Bean: Summoned by parent club
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Carolina recalled Bean from AHL Charlotte on Wednesday.

The Hurricanes are dealing with several injuries on the back end, so Bean will be on hand in case Justin Faulk (upper body) or Calvin de Haan (upper body) is unable to go Friday against the Blues. The 2016 first-round pick has been impressive in the minors this season, racking up 10 goals and 33 points in 56 appearances.

Hurricanes' Jake Bean: Heads back to minors
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Bean was reassigned to AHL Charlotte on Saturday, TSN reports.

Bean suited up for his first two NHL games in this stint, averaging 8:28 per outing. If the Hurricanes are comfortable sending Bean back to minors, it could signal either Hayden Fleury (concussion) or Brett Pesce (lower body) are ready to be activated from injured reserve for Sunday's game versus the Kings.

Hurricanes' Jake Bean: Recalled from AHL Charlotte
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Bean was promoted to the NHL level from AHL Charlotte on Sunday.

Drafted 13th overall in the 2016 NHL Draft, Bean has three goals and 10 points in 20 AHL contests. The 20-year-old blueliner found plenty of success in the WHL, including a terrific 18-point output in last year's WHL postseason. If Haydn Fleury (concussion) is out Tuesday, look for Bean to make his NHL debut.

Hurricanes' Jake Bean: Point-per-game pace in juniors
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Bean has five goals and 27 points through 25 games for the Calgary Hitmen of the Western Hockey League.

Bean was recently traded to the Tri-City Americans, but he has yet to play a game with the new squad. The Hurricanes should be excited about their 19-year-old blueliner's consistent performance, but he still has some bulking up to do before he gets to pro hockey, since he stands at 6-foot-1 and just 173 pounds.

Hurricanes' Jake Bean: Joins AHL Charlotte
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Bean was assigned to AHL Charlotte on Monday.

The former first-rounder has been a fantastic offensive blueliner in the WHL, notching 45 points in 43 games this season. It may be another year or two before he makes his way to the NHL, but his future seems bright considering the recent production.
