  • Sharks' Jonathan Dahlen: Producing since joining new club

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(3/11/19) Dahlen has four assists in his first six games with San Jose's AHL affiliate, the Barracuda.

Originally a second-round pick of Ottawa in 2016, Dahlen is now on his third organization in less than three years. Reports surfaced that Vancouver was committed to dealing Dahlen before this year's trade deadline and they found a willing partner in San Jose. The Swede has played pretty well in his first season in North America (14 goals, 33 points in 56 games) and it's baffling that the Canucks, an organization that lacks offensive depth, would move on from Dahlen so quickly. Regardless of their reasoning, the Sharks have added another nice piece to their ever-growing prospect pool.

Sharks' Jonathan Dahlen: Shifted to San Jose

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(2/25/19) The Sharks acquired Dahlen via trade from the Canucks for Linus Karlsson on Monday.

Dahlen was selected by the Senators in the second round of the 2016 NHL Draft, but he was sent to the Canucks right before the trade deadline back in February of 2017. After posting 29 points in 50 games with AHL Utica, Vancouver's minor-league affiliate, he's packing his bags at the deadline again. The Sharks are too strong up front to need Dahlen's services immediately, so he'll stay with AHL San Jose for the time being.

Canucks' Jonathan Dahlen: Will be assigned to SHL

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(10/6/17) Dahlen will be reassigned from AHL Utica to an organization in the Swedish Hockey League.

The Canucks have decided that the 19-year-old winger's development will be best supported by a full season in Sweden's top professional league, so Dahlen's next opportunity to make his NHL debut won't come until 2018-19. The 2016 second-round pick is definitely worth holding onto in dynasty formats, as he has the talent necessary to develop into a legitimate top-six NHL forward.

Canucks' Jonathan Dahlen: Will start season in minors

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(9/19/17) Dahlen will begin the 2016-17 season with AHL Utica, Ben Kuzma of Postmedia reports.

Per Kuzma, Dahlen was held out of action while dealing with mononucleosis and was recently cleared of all symptoms. The Swedish winger has developed a reputation for being a dynamic playmaker, but at just 19 years old, he will need to take some time to adjust to the speed and skill of the North American game before making an impact with the big club.

Canucks' Jonathan Dahlen: Inks three-year contract with Vancouver

by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com
(4/21/17) Dahlen signed a three-year, entry-level contract with the Canucks on Friday.

Dahlen became a member of the Canucks' organization this past February when he was traded in exchange for Alex Burrows with the Senators, and it appears the Canucks remain content with that decision by locking up the 19-year-old for the next three years. Despite the confidence booster, Dahlen still seems to be at least a couple years away from touching NHL ice, especially when considering he spent this past season playing in Sweden's second-tier professional league.
