LOWELL, Mass. (AP) Jasiah Cannady had 16 points in UMass-Lowell’s 121-57 win over Rivier Raiders on Monday, helping the River Hawks start the season with a victory.

Cannady added seven assists. Elhadji Diallo added 14 points while shooting 5 for 7 from the field and 4 for 8 from the line, and grabbed seven rebounds. Jakai Newton had 13 points and shot 5 for 5 from the field and 3 for 6 from the line.

Matt Youngquist finished with 15 points for the Raiders. Rivier also got 11 points from Theo Briscoe IV. Steph Barnes added 10 points.
