OXFORD, Ohio (AP) Kyle Waltz scored 15 points off of the bench to help lead Miami (Ohio) over Bellarmine Knights 80-73 on Saturday.

Waltz added seven rebounds for the RedHawks (2-0). Justin Kirby scored 15 points while shooting 5 for 8, including 3 for 5 from beyond the arc, and added six rebounds. Almar Atlason shot 5 for 16 (2 for 11 from 3-point range) and 3 of 4 from the free-throw line to finish with 15 points.

Tyler Doyle led the Knights (0-3) in scoring, finishing with 20 points, eight rebounds, five assists and two steals. Bellarmine also got 16 points from Kenyon Goodin. Sam Donald finished with 12 points.

Miami took the lead with 11:07 left in the first half and did not trail again. Kirby led his team in scoring with eight points in the first half to help put them ahead 36-31 at the break. Waltz led the way with a team-high 10 second-half points.

Miami's next game is next Saturday against Evansville on the road. Bellarmine hosts Franklin on Wednesday.
