MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) Norbertas Giga and Erik Durham combined to score 35 points and Jacksonville State held off Alabama State down the stretch to preserve a 72-69 win Tuesday night.

Alabama State tied the game at 58-58 with 6:04 left on Terrance LeFlore's layup, but Greg Tucker answered with a 3-pointer for the Gamecocks, who held the lead the rest of the way.

The Hornets led by five, 26-21 with 3:29 to play in the first half, but Jacksonville State (5-3) answered with back-to-back 3s by Durham to take the lead for good, 27-26.

Giga finished with 18 points and eight rebounds for the Gamecocks, who were 26 of 58 from the field (44.8 percent), including 10 of 22 from beyond the arc. Durham was 5 of 8 from distance and finished with 17 points.

LeFlore finished with 19 points on 9-of-13 shooting from the field for Alabama State (1-6).
