JACKSON, Miss. (AP) Yettra Specks scored 21 points, including the go-ahead 3-pointer late in the second half, to lead Jackson State to its fourth-straight victory with a 65-61 win over Southern on Monday night.

Edric Denis and Derek Roscoe added 14 points each for the Tigers (7-9, 3-0 Southwestern Athletic Conference), who shot 43 percent overall and held Southern to just six made field goals in the first half.

Southern (6-11, 2-2) trailed by as much as nine early in the second half but kept chipping away, edging into its first lead since the game's opening bucket with JaMarcus Weatherspoon's fadeaway jumper to go up 61-60 with 36 second left. Specks then connected from the corner with his second 3 of the game to put the Tigers on top for good.

Janarius Middleton clinched it with a pair of free throws.

Weatherspoon finished with 16 points. Jared Sam and Chris Thomas added 13 points apiece for the Jaguars.
