FORT MYERS, Fla. (AP) Brandon Goodwin scored 21 points with 10 rebounds and eight assists and Florida Gulf Coast led most of the way in a 68-54 win over NJIT on Saturday night for its fifth straight win.

Goodwin tied the game at 15 with two free throws and that started a 16-4 run from which the Highlanders never recovered.

FGCU (12-8, 3-0 Atlantic Sun) led 36-28 at halftime and built the lead to 50-38 on Michael Gilmore's 3-point play with 11:13 left. Running the middle of the floor in transition, Zach Johnson threw a lob to Gilmore who threw down a dunk and got fouled.

Johnson scored 19 points with six rebounds and the Eagles had a 41-30 edge on the glass.

Zach Cooks led the Highlanders with 12 points and Shawndale Jones added 11. NJIT (8-10, 1-2) has lost four of its last five games.
