ST. LOUIS (AP) Gibson Jimerson scored 20 points as Saint Louis Billikens beat Illinois State Redbirds 80-71 on Saturday night.
Jimerson added five rebounds for the Billikens (3-0). Sincere Parker added 19 points while going 8 of 17 (2 for 5 from 3-point range), and they also had nine rebounds. Terrence Hargrove Jr. was 3 of 8 shooting, including 1 for 4 from 3-point range, and went 5 for 6 from the line to finish with 12 points.
The Redbirds (1-1) were led by Malachi Poindexter, who posted 19 points and six rebounds. Dalton Banks added 17 points for Illinois State. Myles Foster also had 10 points and seven rebounds.
NEXT UP
Saint Louis plays Thursday against Wyoming, and Illinois State hosts Eastern Illinois on Wednesday.
