Drexel holds off Colgate 77-74 behind Panagiotis Pagonis
PHILADELPHIA (AP) Panagiotis Pagonis’ 14 points off of the bench led Drexel Dragons to a 77-74 victory against Colgate Raiders on Saturday.
Pagonis had six rebounds and five assists for the Dragons (1-1). LaDricus Pittman added 13 points while shooting 4 for 5, including 3 for 3 from beyond the arc while they also had six assists. Latief Lorenzano-White shot 2 of 6 from the field, including 1 for 4 from 3-point range, and went 7 for 8 from the line to finish with 12 points.
Sam Wright led the Raiders (0-2) in scoring, finishing with 21 points. Colgate also got 20 points, 14 rebounds and four assists from Andrew Alekseyenko. Josh Ahayere also had 18 points and five assists.
Drexel went into the half leading Colgate 29-25. Dillon Tingler scored five points in the half. Pittman scored Drexel’s final six points as they closed out a three-point victory.

Both teams next play Wednesday. Drexel hosts American and Colgate squares off against St. John’s on the road.
