The Kentucky Wildcats are one of the top offensive teams in the nation as they rank ninth with an average of 80.9 points per game. Why Kentucky can cover

The Wildcats have been at full strength for just 12 of their 27 games this season, and that number may not increase Wednesday as guards TyTy Washington Jr. and Sahvir Wheeler are questionable due to undisclosed injuries. Kentucky fared well without them on Saturday, however, as it posted a 90-81 home victory against the Crimson Tide. Four players finished in double figures, with Kellan Grady leading the charge with 25 points while Oscar Tshiebwe added 21 along with 14 rebounds.

It was the 21st double-double of 2021-22 for Tshiebwe, who leads the nation with an average of 15.2 boards. The junior forward tops Kentucky with 38 blocks and 52 steals, and he is the only major conference player averaging at least 1.4 and 1.5, respectively. The Wildcats are 16-0 at home this season and own a 91-28 all-time record against the Tigers, including a 45-6 mark in Lexington.

Why LSU can cover

Kentucky is averaging 80.9 points in 2021-22 but was held to a season-low 60 by the Tigers last month. LSU dropped a 77-75 decision at South Carolina on Saturday but received another solid performance off the bench from Tari Eason, who recorded a team-high 21 points on 8-of-14 shooting. The sophomore forward also pulled down 10 rebounds for his seventh double-double of the season.

Eason has led the Tigers in scoring in five consecutive contests, registering at least 21 in each of his last four outings. He is first on the squad with an average of 16.9 points and has hit double figures in 23 of his 26 games this season. Senior forward Darius Days, who tops LSU in rebounds (7.8), scored 18 points against South Carolina for his seventh consecutive double-digit effort.
