Tucker Parks leads Abilene Christian past No. 17 West Florida 35-7
ABILENE, Texas (AP) Tucker Parks threw three touchdown passes to lead Abilene Christian Wildcats to a 35-7 victory over West Florida Argonauts on Saturday night.
Parks threw a 31-yard touchdown pass to JC French-Love late in the first quarter and an 8-yard score to Jayden York just before halftime to help Abilene Christian build a 28-0 lead. Rovaughn Banks Jr. had a 30-yard touchdown run and Deonte Dean added a 14-yard scoring run in the second quarter for the Wildcats.
Parks completed 16 of 17 passes for 155 yards, and he added 97 yards rushing on 15 carries. Banks finished with 80 yards on 19 carries. Deonte Dean added a fourth-quarter touchdown run for Abilene Christian (2-4, 1-0 United Athletic Conference).
Markel Townsend had 92 of his 98 yards rushing in the first half for West Florida (3-2, 1-2), which entered ranked No. 17 in the Stats Perform poll. Ty’ray Davis was 16-of-31 passing for 208 yards for the Argonauts. He threw a 22-yard touchdown pass to Jakari Mozelle with about five minutes left to play.
