Syracuse sophomore quarterback AJ Long was medically disqualified from playing football with the Orange on Oct. 13, 2015, after a review of his concussion history by team physician Dr. James Tucker.

Over the weekend, Long appeared on Instagram committing to play football at Wagner College.

"I want to thank everyone for the support, and motivation over these past months," Long wrote in the caption of a photo taken inside the Hawks' locker room. "Thank you to Wagner for giving me another opportunity. I won't be doing any interviews, for now I just want to focus on my education, and building relationships with my teammates and coaches."

Long suffered three concussions in two years at Syracuse, but Long reportedly (via STAT and Syracuse.com) was "cleared by the Jefferson concussion center in late December for full activity and full contact practice."

Syracuse has undergone a regime change since Long's medical disqualification, with Dino Babers taking over for Scott Shafer, so the school's connection to this story is done. Long's desire to continue his football career surfaced in the weeks following his disqualification, but nothing was likely going to happen until he got cleared by experts in the field.

Long started five games as a freshman for the Orange in 2014, throwing passed 935 yards and four touchdowns on the season.
