No surprise here: former Tennessee coach Derek Dooley's home is for sale. Also not a surprise: You can't afford it.

At least, not unless you're the sort who has $2.9 million lying around, per the listing at realtor.com. From a write-up of the property at the same site:

Property records indicate that Dooley and his wife, Allison, originally purchased the property, described in the listing as a “rare treasure,” for $2.24 million in early 2010. Featuring a wealth of privacy and pristine views of the Smokey [sic] Mountains, the brick-lined manse weighs in at just over 8,818 square feet and offers five bedrooms to go along with 8 bathrooms. Wood built-ins and detailed crown molding highlight the interior’s many fine details, while amenities range from a stately office to a recently remodeled chef’s kitchen to a man cave that goes the distance with movie room, poker table and wet bar. Outside, a patio with an outdoor kitchen is complemented by an infinity pool and a recessed basketball court.

Sounds nice, especially once you know it's a "manse." A few shots of the property:

As always: In some ways -- like the way in which Dooley was unceremoniously dumped after three seasons of sleepless nights trying to get his Volunteers over the hump -- being an SEC coach isn't such a great deal. And in others, being an SEC coach is a very, very great deal indeed.

(Good luck selling the house to someone who isn't Butch Jones, though; former Vols basketball coach Bruce Pearl's $2.4 million mansion is still on the market nearly two years after he left Knoxville.)
