SEC Spotlight Player of the Week: Alabama RB Derrick Henry
Alabama running back Derrick Henry dominated Texas A&M to lift the Tide to a 41-23 win on the road.
Alabama running back Derrick Henry set a career high by going over 150 rushing yards in the first half on the road against Texas A&M. The Crimson Tide star finished the game with 236 rushing yards and two touchdowns as Alabama rolled to a 41-23 victory.
Henry was dominant, rushing for more than 10 yards on eight of his 32 carries and was especially forceful early with five of those 10-plus-yard runs coming in the first quarter.
The Texas A&M defense had no answers for Henry, who was by far the most productive member of the Alabama offense. Henry's 254 total yards of offense accounted for 64 percent of the Tide's 396 total yards of offense on the day, and his two touchdowns were the only offensive scores for Alabama -- which got a lot of help from three pick-sixes.
Henry's play, particularly early, set the tone for the game and his two touchdowns gave the Tide a cushion that they would never relinquish despite a charge by the Aggies.
