Wisconsin's Melvin Gordon to return for junior season
Wisconsin running back Melvin Gordon will be back with the Badgers in 2014.

Gary Andersen and Wisconsin will not have to worry about losing one of its biggest offensive weapons next season. Running back Melvin Gordon announced on Friday that he would return to Madison for his junior season.
“After talking it over with my family and my coaches, I have decided to come back next year,” Gordon said in a release from the school. “I love the University of Wisconsin and feel that there is still a lot of room for growth. Academically, another year in school will help me get closer to completing my degree and on the field I hope to help my team get back the Big Ten championship.
“With this decision out of the way I can now focus on helping my team prepare for the Capital One Bowl and a great opponent in South Carolina.”
Gordon, a redshirt sophomore, told reporters earlier this month that he was going to seek NFL draft opinions before making his decision. Apparently what he heard was enough to convince him to return for at least one more season.
Which is a decision I know I'm happy about, as Gordon is a fun player to watch.
Gordon has rushed for 1,466 yards and 12 touchdowns with the Badgers this season, averaging more than eight yards per carry. He's basically a big play waiting to happen any time he touches the football.
