Commanders' Jake Moody: Impresses in Commanders debut
Moody went 2-for-2 on field-goal attempts and made both of his extra-point tries in Sunday night's 27-26 overtime loss to the Broncos.
Moody was perfect in his Commanders debut, making 32- and 38-yard field goals in the fourth quarter to send the game to overtime. The 2023 third-round pick from Michigan has now appeared in four games with the 49ers, Bears and Commanders this season, making 11 of 14 field-goal attempts and all seven of his point-after tries. He's expected to remain Washington's top placekicker in the Week 14 matchup against the Vikings.

Commanders' Jake Moody: Joining Commanders
The Commanders will sign Moody off the Bears' practice squad Monday, John Keim of ESPN.com reports.
Moody, who was a third-round pick of the 49ers in 2023, kicked for San Francisco in Week 1 and Chicago in Weeks 6 and 7, combining to make nine of his 12 field-goal tries and all five of his extra-point attempts in that span. The 25-year-old now is slated to take over Washington's kicking duties after the Commanders waived Matt Gay on Monday.

Bears' Jake Moody: Returns to practice squad
Moody reverted to the Bears' practice squad Monday, per the NFL's official transaction log.
Moody filled in for Cairo Santos (thigh) for the second straight week, going 4-for-4 on field-goal tries while making both of his PATs in Sunday's 26-14 win over New Orleans. The kicker can be elevated from the practice squad one more time before he'd have to be officially signed to the active roster.

Bears' Jake Moody: Busy day in Week 7 win
Moody made all four of his field-goal attempts and both of his extra-point tries during the Bears' 26-14 win over the Saints on Sunday.
Moody was elevated from the practice squad to the Bears' active roster for a second consecutive week in place of Cairo Santos (thigh). Moody was responsible for the Bears' first six points of the game with field goals from 27 and 39 yards in the first half, and he helped expand Chicago's lead in the second half after connecting on two more field goals. Moody is now 8-for-9 on field-goal attempts and 3-for-3 on extra-point tries across two games with the Bears. He is eligible to be elevated from the practice squad by Chicago one more time this season, which could happen as soon as Week 8 against the Ravens on Sunday, Oct. 26.

Bears' Jake Moody: Up again for Week 7
The Bears elevated Moody from the practice squad to the active roster ahead of Sunday's game against the Saints.
Moody thus will handle placekicking duties in place of Cairo Santos (thigh) for a second consecutive contest. In his first chance to kick in the NFL since the 49ers jettisoned him after Week 1, Moody connected on four of five field-goal attempts and his sole point-after try during Monday's 25-24 win at Washington.

Bears' Jake Moody: Back to practice squad
Moody reverted to the Bears' practice squad Tuesday, Patrick Finley of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.
Moody was called up from the Bears' practice squad for Monday's game against the Commanders due to the absence of Cairo Santos (thigh). Moody went 4-for-5 on his field-goal attempts Monday, which included a 38-yard kick as time expired to lift the Bears to a 25-24 victory. The 2023 third-rounder could be elevated for Chicago's Week 7 contest against New Orleans on Sunday if Santos is not cleared to play.

Bears' Jake Moody: Comes through with game-winning FG
Moody went 4-for-5 on field-goal attempts and made his only extra-point try Monday in a 25-24 win over Washington.
Moody made his Bears debut as a result of Cairo Santos being inactive due to a thigh injury. Moody instilled confidence with his first field-goal try, a successful 47-yarder early in the first quarter. The former 49er then hit a 48-yarder and a 41-yarder before having another 48-yard try blocked at the start of the fourth period. However, Moody was able to conclude a successful team debut by nailing a 38-yard field goal as time expired to give Chicago a one-point win. Whether or not he kicks again in Week 7 versus New Orleans likely depends on Santos' health and ability to suit up.

Bears' Jake Moody: Set for Chicago debut
Moody will start Monday night's contest against the Commanders.
Moody was elevated from the practice squad to fill in for Cairo Santos (thigh) on Monday Night Football. Moody went 1-for-3 on field-goal attempts and made both his PATs in Week 1 with the 49ers before being let go by the team.

Bears' Jake Moody: Elevated for MNF
The Bears have elevated Moody from the practice squad to the active roster for Monday's matchup against the Commanders.
Moody has been elevated to the game-day roster for Week 6 due Cairo Santos (hamstring) being listed as questionable. The transaction could be a sign that Santos is trending in the wrong direction to play Monday, in which case Moody will start as Chicago's placekicker, or simply a move made by the Bears for extra depth.

Jake Moody: Finds work in Chicago
The Bears signed Moody to their practice squad Friday, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.
Moody was cut by the 49ers earlier in the week and cleared waivers after missing a pair of field-goal attempts in San Francisco's Week 1 win over the Seahawks. Chicago represents a fresh start for the 2023 third-round pick. He's an upside addition should Moody rediscover the kicking ability that made him such a high draft pick out of Michigan.

Jake Moody: Out as San Francisco's kicker
The 49ers will waive Moody on Tuesday, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.
Moody has been on thin ice since the end of his rookie campaign in 2023, when he followed up a promising regular season by missing two field goals and one extra-point attempt over three playoff games. He then endured a nightmarish sophomore campaign in which he missed 11 kicks in total (10 field goals, one extra point), and his struggles continued in the 49ers' 17-13 win over the Seahawks in Week 1. Before converting on a 32-yard try in the fourth quarter, Moody hit the left upright on a 27-yard attempt late in the second quarter, then had a 36-yard attempt in the third quarter get blocked. The 49ers don't currently have any other kickers on their 53-man roster or practice squad.

49ers' Jake Moody: Struggles in Week 1
Moody went 1-for-3 on field-goal tries and 2-for-2 on PATs in Sunday's 17-13 win over the Seahawks.
Moody hit the left upright on a 27-yard field-goal attempt in the second quarter, and he also had a 36-yard try get blocked in the third quarter. The kicker was able to salvage his day with a 32-yard make early in the fourth, tying the game at 10-10. The 25-year-old went a career-worst 24-for-34 on field-goal attempts in 2024, and he'll look to rebound in Week 2 against the Saints after a disappointing start to the 2025 campaign.
