Grizzlies' Zach Edey: Nets 10 points with three stocks
Edey tallied 10 points (3-3 FG, 4-6 FT), five rebounds, two steals and one block over 16 minutes in Friday's 104-100 preseason win over the Bulls.
Edey also committed three turnovers without handing out a single dime in his limited floor time, and ball security has been a bit of an issue for him. Though it's just an 11-game sample, Edey averaged 2.4 turnovers in 25.8 minutes per game last season. Still, he's an elite rebounder and shot blocker, so if he can stay healthy, Edey could easily be a top-60 player.

Grizzlies' Zach Edey: More minutes on tap
Edey will play in Friday's preseason game against the Bulls and is expected to see an uptick in minutes, Rob Fischer of FanDuel Sports Network Southeast reports.
Edey made his 2026 preseason debut in Wednesday's loss to Orlando, posting two points, four rebounds, an assist, a steal and a block in 10 minutes. He underwent surgeries on his left elbow and ankle in March, and the big man will likely continue ramping up his workload ahead of the regular season.

Grizzlies' Zach Edey: Will play Wednesday
Edey (ankle) will play in Wednesday's preseason game against the Magic, Chris Herrington of The Daily Memphian reports.
Although he'll play limited minutes Wednesday, it appears Edey has made swift progress in his recovery from elbow and ankle surgeries after the Grizzlies initially had Opening Night as the big man's target for a return. Fantasy managers should feel a bit better about drafting Edey at his ADP now that he's healthy.

Grizzlies' Zach Edey: Ruled out Monday
Edey (ankle) completed a full on-court workout Monday but won't play in the Grizzlies' preseason game against the Hawks, Michael Wallace of the Grizzlies' official site reports.
As expected, Edey will be held out of the Grizzlies' preseason opener, and it's not yet clear whether he'll play at all during the preseason. However, the big man is trending toward suiting up for Opening Night after undergoing surgeries on his left elbow and ankle in March.

Grizzlies' Zach Edey: Not starting Monday
Edey is not in the starting lineup for Monday's preseason game against the Hawks, Damichael Cole of The Memphis Commercial Appeal reports.
Edey is not expected to play in Monday's exhibition, and it's unclear if he'll suit up at all for the preseason, but he is expected to be ready for opening night. Edey was active at training camp, participating in all practices and 5-on-5 work, and he's reportedly moving around better than ever.

Grizzlies' Zach Edey: Trending in right direction
General manager Zach Kleiman said Monday that Edey (ankle/elbow) has been cleared for on-court activity and is on pace to suit up for Memphis' regular-season opener against the Jazz on Wednesday, Oct. 21, Chris Herrington of The Daily Memphian reports.
Edey still hasn't been ruled out for the preseason, so there's a chance he will see some run ahead of the regular-season opener. The big man underwent surgeries on his left elbow and ankle in March, though he's trending in the right direction ahead of the 2026-27 campaign. The Purdue product appeared in only 11 regular-season games in 2025-26, averaging 13.6 points, 11.1 rebounds, 1.9 blocks, 1.1 assists and 0.6 steals in 25.8 minutes per contest.

Grizzlies' Zach Edey: Has new frontcourt partner
Edey's (ankle, elbow) role becomes more intriguing following Memphis' addition of Cameron Boozer with the No. 3 overall pick in the 2026 NBA Draft.
The young center has shown encouraging development during his first two seasons and still projects to receive significant frontcourt minutes. However, Memphis now possesses additional depth in the frontcourt, creating some uncertainty regarding lineup combinations. Injuries have limited Edey to 66 regular-season appearances through two years, so his health is a far bigger concern.
