  • Jaheim Bell: Let loose by Philly

The Eagles cut Bell from their practice squad Tuesday.

Bell had just signed to Philadelphia's practice squad last Wednesday, but his tenure has now come to an end. The Florida State product hasn't yet played in a regular-season game this season after catching two of three targets for 20 yards over 15 contests as a rookie with the Patriots last year.

  • Jaheim Bell: Signed to Eagles' practice squad

The Eagles signed Bell to the practice squad Wednesday.

The 2024 fourth-rounder was waived by the Patriots in late August after failing to make the team's 53-man roster, but he'll get another opportunity with the Eagles as a member of the practice squad. Bell could be elevated to the Eagles' active roster for Sunday's game against the Vikings if Grant Calcaterra (oblique) is unable to play. Bell mostly served on special teams across 15 regular-season games with the Patriots in 2024, though he did log two catches (on three targets) for 20 yards.

  • Jaheim Bell: Waived by Patriots

New England waived Bell on Friday, Evan Lazar of the team's official site reports.

The Patriots knew Bell was a developmental selection when nabbing him in the seventh round of the 2024 NFL Draft, so he seems a likely candidate to resurface on the practice squad if he goes unclaimed on waivers. Across 15 regular-season appearances as a rookie, Bell totaled two catches for 20 yards on three targets, and his one game with double-digit offensive snaps came Week 18 against Buffalo.

  • Patriots' Jaheim Bell: Two catches in rookie season

Bell finished the 2024 regular season with two catches (on three targets) for 20 yards in 15 games.

The 2024 seventh-rounder out of Florida State saw limited snaps on offense as a rookie while working behind veteran tight ends Hunter Henry and Austin Hooper. While Henry remains under contract with the Patriots in 2025, Hooper is eligible to become an unrestricted free agent, and if he's not re-signed, the 6-foot-2, 241-pound Bell could have an opportunity to see an increased complementary role in his second campaign as a pro.

  • Patriots' Jaheim Bell: Cleared on injury report

Bell (neck) was a full participant during practice Thursday.

Bell was limited Wednesday, putting his status for Sunday's game against the Dolphins into question. However, with his ability to log a full session Thursday, he should be all set to go for the Week 5 matchup.

  • Patriots' Jaheim Bell: Pops up on injury report

Bell (neck) was a limited participant during practice Wednesday, Evan Lazar of the Patriots' official site reports.

Bell was never on the Patriots' Week 4 injury report and was presumably a healthy inactive for their loss to the 49ers. So, it's not clear when he would have picked up the injury.
