Ravens' Tyler Loop: Lands on injured reserve
The Ravens placed Loop (groin) on injured reserve Tuesday.
Loop emerged from Sunday's blowout loss to the Bills with a right groin injury, which will keep him out for at least the next four games. Baltimore plans to elevate or sign Jake Moody off its practice squad to take over as its kicker beginning with Thursday's game against Jacksonville. Through Baltimore's first eight contests, Loop went a perfect 18-for-18 on point-after attempts but missed four of his 17 field-goal tries.

Loop is not expected to kick Thursday night against the Jaguars, and there's a chance he lands on injured reserve. Loop went 2-for-2 on field-goal tries and made his only PAT during Sunday's 35-13 loss to the Bengals.
Loop made an extra-point in the first quarter and field goals from 34 and 24 yards in the second quarter before he and the rest of the Ravens went scoreless in the second half. All three of Loop's made field goals came in the first half, the last two of which both came from 51 yards. It was his first game of the season of at least three field goals, and his five makes from 50-plus yards are tied for second-most in the NFL behind Spencer Shrader (six). Loop is 9-for-11 on field-goal attempts and 15-for-15 on PATs through five regular-season games, and the Ravens will hit the road for a Week 6 AFC North clash against the Browns on Oct. 18.

Loop converted a career-long 64-yard field goal as time expired in the first half, giving Baltimore a 24-7 lead heading into the break. If he can be more consistent, Loop should be a premier fantasy kicker in this high-powered Baltimore offense.

Coach Jesse Minter said Monday that Loop is expected to handle Week 1 kicking duties against the Colts despite Baltimore's addition of Jake Moody to the practice squad, Giana Han of the Baltimore Banner reports.
Loop missed a pair of field-goal attempts in the Ravens' preseason finale and has struggled during his short career on kicks from distance, as he made just one of four field goals from 50-plus yards during the 2025 regular season. He figures to have a short leash after his Week 18 miss last season sent the Steelers to the playoffs over the Ravens. Whoever kicks for the Ravens will have plenty of fantasy appeal in what should be one of the league's top offenses.

Loop has had a strong camp, but coach Jesse Minter did not discount the possibility of bringing in competition for the kicker spot, per Kyle Goon of TheBaltimoreBanner.com. Loop's misses Friday came from 58 and 51 yards put, and they come on the heels of a rookie season in which he made just one of his four attempts from 50 yards or longer. Loop has some level of security as the only kicker on Baltimore's roster, but he will have eyes on him moving forward.

The second-year kicker is under a bit of a microscope after an uneven rookie campaign that had some lowlights, such as the missed kick in Week 18 against the Steelers that kept Baltimore out of the playoffs. The team has expressed confidence in Loop throughout the offseason by not bringing in a veteran kicker to compete. A 2025 sixth-round pick, Loop missed just four field-goal attempts and two PATs as a rookie, but his season was ultimately remembered for a last-second shank that cost Baltimore a playoff spot. He also went just 1-for-4 on kicks of 50-plus yards, unable to make an impact from long range despite boasting plenty of leg strength. While the Ravens still have time to bring in competition before Week 1, they clearly intend for Loop to handle the placekicking work if he doesn't faceplant during training camp and the preseason.
