Yuki Matsui SD RP
Padres' Yuki Matsui: Slated for Tuesday return
23m agoMatsui (groin) is expected to be activated from the 15-day injured list Tuesday, Sammy Levitt of 97.3 The Fan San Diegoreports.
Matsui is nearing his 2026 debut after suffering a left groin strain in February. He was a solid reliever for the Padres a year ago, collecting a 3.98 ERA and 1.36 WHIP with a 61:33 K:BB and one save across 63.1 regular-season innings.
-
Patrick Bailey SF C
Giants' Patrick Bailey: Sitting Monday
1h agoBailey is not in the Giants' starting lineup against the Padres on Monday.
Bailey will ride the pine for a second consecutive game, only this time it'll be Jesus Rodriguez who will serve behind home plate and bat eighth in his major-league debut. Bailey has slashed .159/.221/.206 with two steals, one home run, four RBI and a 5:16 BB:K across 68 plate appearances since April 1.
-
Shay Whitcomb HOU SS
Astros' Shay Whitcomb: Sent to minors
1h agoWhitcomb was optioned to Triple-A Sugar Land on Monday, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.
The Astros needed to promote a catcher ahead of Monday's game against the Dodgers after Yainer Diaz (abdomen) was a late scratch, and Whitcomb will end up being the roster casualty. Whitcomb has struggled to a .077 average with one home run, three RBI and one run scored through 10 games this season.
-
Cole Wilcox SEA RP
Mariners' Cole Wilcox: Returned to minors
1h agoWilcox was optioned to Triple-A Tacoma on Monday.
Wilcox put together a pair of scoreless appearances to begin May, but it wasn't enough to maintain his spot on the big-league roster. He's put together a 5.40 ERA and 2.17 WHIP with a 15:12 K:BB across 13.1 frames so far this season. Josh Simpson was recalled in a corresponding move.
-
Josh Simpson SEA RP
Mariners' Josh Simpson: Receives promotion Monday
1h agoSimpson was recalled from Triple-A Tacoma on Monday.
Simpson will be called up to provide bullpen support after Gabe Speier (shoulder) was placed on the 15-day injured list and Cole Wilcox was sent down. Simpson made 31 relief appearances with Miami a season ago, posting a 7.34 ERA and 1.83 WHIP with 36 strikeouts across 30.2 innings.
-
Roman Anthony BOS RF
Red Sox's Roman Anthony: Diagnosed with wrist injury
2h agoAnthony was removed from Monday's game against the Tigers due to right wrist discomfort, Chris Cotillo of MassLive.com reports.
Anthony appeared to tweak his right wrist during his plate appearance in the first inning and was replaced by Masataka Yoshida in the second. Anthony will undergo more tests on his wrist to determine the severity of the injury, by which time the Red Sox should provide an update on the young outfielder's status moving forward.
-
Patrick Bailey SF C
Giants' Patrick Bailey: Sitting Monday
1h agoBailey is not in the Giants' starting lineup against the Padres on Monday.
Bailey will ride the pine for a second consecutive game, only this time it'll be Jesus Rodriguez who will serve behind home plate and bat eighth in his major-league debut. Bailey has slashed .159/.221/.206 with two steals, one home run, four RBI and a 5:16 BB:K across 68 plate appearances since April 1.
-
Yainer Diaz HOU C
Astros' Yainer Diaz: Late scratch Monday
2h agoDiaz (abdomen) has been scratched from Monday's lineup against the Dodgers due to a left abdominal injury, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.
Diaz was initially slated to bat ninth in Monday's series opener, but an abdominal injury will keep him from taking the field. He can be considered day-to-day until the team has more information to share on the severity of his injury.
-
Luis Campusano SD C
Padres' Luis Campusano: Sitting again Monday
2h agoCampusano is not in the Padres' starting lineup against the Giants on Monday.
Campusano was seeing more playing time toward the tail end of April, but he will take a seat for a second consecutive game while Freddy Fermin serves behind home plate and bats eighth. Campusano is slashing .300/.352/.620 with three home runs and 10 RBI across 54 plate appearances this season.
-
Jesus Rodriguez SF C
Giants' Jesus Rodriguez: Recalled, starting Monday
2h agoThe Giants recalled Rodriguez from Triple-A Sacramento, and he will start at catcher while batting eighth against the Padres on Monday.
Rodriguez, Bryce Eldridge and Trevor McDonald have all been called up to the majors by the Giants ahead of the start of the team's six-game homestand. Rodriguez has been productive at the plate in Triple-A, where he is slashing .330/.400/.430 with four steals, two home runs and 14 RBI across 115 plate appearances in 30 games with Sacramento. He'll likely serve as the Giants' No. 2 catcher behind Patrick Bailey while Daniel Susac (elbow) is on the 10-day IL. Now that he's in the lineup, Monday will officially be Rodriguez's debut in the majors.
-
Edgar Quero CHW C
White Sox's Edgar Quero: Splitting time with Romo
2h agoQuero is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Angels.
On the bench for the second straight game, Quero appears to have fallen into a timeshare at catcher with Drew Romo. Quero opened the season in a strong position to handle the lion's share of the work behind the plate with Kyle Teel (hamstring) on the injured list, but Quero's offensive struggles have prompted the White Sox to limit his playing time more than anticipated. He's mustered a weak .162/.267/.176 slash line and has provided zero home runs, one stolen base, five RBI and three runs across 88 plate appearances.
-
Jonah Heim ATL C
Braves' Jonah Heim: DFA'd by Atlanta
3h agoAtlanta designed Heim for assignment Monday.
Heim served as Atlanta's No. 2 catcher behind Drake Baldwin after Sean Murphy (hip) opened the season on the 10-day injured list. With Murphy back from the IL, Heim's services are no longer needed on Atlanta's major-league roster, and it's unclear whether he will stay with the organization if he clears waivers. Heim is slashing .231/.311/.410 with one home run and eight RBI across 45 plate appearances this season.
-
Bryce Eldridge SF 1B
Giants' Bryce Eldridge: Starting Monday as DH
2h agoEldridge is serving as the Giants' designated hitter and batting seventh against the Padres on Monday, Jeff Sanders of The San Diego Union-Tribune reports.
Eldridge was recalled by the Giants from Triple-A Sacramento on Monday, and the 21-year-old will immediately slide into the starting lineup for the series opener. He has a .963 OPS with five homers and 22 RBI in 137 plate appearances in the minors this season, and he will look for better results in his second stint in the majors after logging a .476 OPS in 37 plate appearances in 2025.
-
Bryce Eldridge SF 1B
Giants' Bryce Eldridge: Officially promoted by Giants
2h agoThe Giants recalled Eldridge from Triple-A Sacramento on Monday.
As expected, the 21-year-old Eldridge will join the Giants for the start of their six-game homestand Monday. He was unable to make the team's Opening Day roster but a return to the majors seemed inevitable after dominating at the plate in Triple-A with a .333/.445/.518 slash line with five home runs and 22 RBI in 137 plate appearances. Eldridge will look to do better in his second stint in the majors after going 3-for-28 (.107) with four RBI and 13 strikeouts across 10 regular-season games in 2025.
-
Dustin Harris HOU 1B
Astros' Dustin Harris: Taking seat Monday
3h agoHarris is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Dodgers.
After starting each of the Astros' previous seven games and going 7-for-22 (.318 average) with two stolen bases, four RBI and two runs, Harris will head to the bench as Houston begins a three-game series with the Dodgers. Harris could be at risk of fading into more of a part-time role in the Houston outfield after the Astros recalled Zach Cole (toe) from Triple-A Sugar Land on Monday. Cole will replace Harris in the lineup Monday, manning left field while batting eighth.
-
Kyle Manzardo CLE 1B
Guardians' Kyle Manzardo: Heading to bench Monday
3h agoManzardo is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Royals.
Manzardo typically starts against right-handed pitchers, but he'll hit the bench for the series opener in Kansas City while Michael Wacha toes the rubber for the Royals. The Guardians will go with Rhys Hoskins at first base in place of Manzardo, who has followed up his 27-homer 2025 season with just two long balls through his first 31 games of 2026.
-
Andrew Vaughn MIL 1B
Brewers' Andrew Vaughn: Making return from IL
4h agoThe Brewers reinstated Vaughn (hand) from the 10-day injured list. He'll start at designated hitter and bat sixth in Monday's game in St. Louis.
Vaughn will be available to play for the Brewers for the first time since Opening Day, when he made an early exit from Milwaukee's 14-2 win over the White Sox after fracturing the hamate bone in left hand when he was hit by a pitch. He underwent surgery days later and was held out of action for about a month before completing a three-game rehab assignment with Triple-A Nashville last week. Now that he's back from the IL, Vaughn will likely settle back into a near-everyday role while moving between DH and first base.
-
Yandy Diaz TB 1B
Rays' Yandy Diaz: Batting cleanup in return
6h agoDiaz (side) will start at designated hitter and will bat cleanup in Monday's game against the Blue Jays, Ryan Bass of Rays.tv reports.
Diaz was held out for the Rays' final two games of the weekend after departing Friday's 3-0 win over the Giants early due to left side tightness, but he'll be good to go as Tampa Bay kicks off a seven-game week. He had been running hot at the plate prior to missing time with the injury, batting .355/.429/.548 with two home runs, four RBI and seven runs over his last nine contests.
-
Tommy Edman LAD 2B
Dodgers' Tommy Edman: Rehab paused due to soreness
2h agoEdman has been backed off his rehab a bit after feeling residual soreness in his surgically repaired right ankle, Bill Plunkett of The Orange County Register reports.
The soreness isn't necessarily unexpected as Edman ramps up his rehab, but it will delay him a bit. The Dodgers have not revealed a timetable for Edman's season debut, but it now seems unlikely that he will make it back before the end of May.
-
Ha-seong Kim ATL 2B
Braves' Ha-Seong Kim: Moving rehab to Triple-A
3h agoKim (finger) is moving his rehab assignment from Double-A Columbus to Triple-A Gwinnett this week, Lindsay Crosby of BravesToday.com reports.
Kim embarked on his rehab assignment in late April and is taking the next step in his recovery from surgery he underwent in January to repair a torn tendon in his right middle finger. He went 3-for-9 with four walks, one steal and three runs scored across four outings in Double-A and will likely need a few outings in Triple-A before being cleared to return to the majors. Mauricio Dubon should continue to hold down the fort at shortstop until Kim is back with Atlanta.
-
Jordan Westburg BAL 2B
Orioles' Jordan Westburg: Shut down from throwing
3h agoWestburg has been shut down from throwing after feeling discomfort in his right elbow, Jake Rill of MLB.com reports.
Westburg has been sidelined by a partial UCL tear in his right elbow since mid-February. He was steadily progressing through his recovery, including swinging a bat and a throwing program, but he has recently hit a setback and will be shut down until he's reevaluated by the Orioles' medical staff. Westburg is eligible to be activated from the 60-day injured list in late May, but he may need a longer stint on the IL depending on how his elbow responds over the coming days.
-
Tyler Black MIL 2B
Brewers' Tyler Black: Sitting again Monday
3h agoBlack is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Cardinals.
After hitting the bench for Sunday's 3-2 loss to the Nationals while right-hander Zack Littell served as Washington's primary pitcher, Black will remain out of the starting nine against a righty starter (Kyle Leahy) for the series opener in St. Louis. Since being recalled from Triple-A Nashville on April 24, Black has shined at the plate with nine hits -- including four doubles -- and seven RBI over 21 at-bats, but his pathway to regular playing time appears to have closed with the Brewers bringing Jackson Chourio (hand) and Andrew Vaughn (hand) back from the injured list Monday. Black could be optioned back to Nashville in the coming days if Milwaukee wants him to continue playing on an everyday basis rather than seeing limited action in a utility role at the big-league level.
-
Brice Turang MIL 2B
Brewers' Brice Turang: Ready to start Monday
4h agoTurang (illness) will start at second base and bat third in Monday's game against the Cardinals.
After Turang fell ill and was scratched from the starting nine ahead of Sunday's 3-2 loss to the Nationals, manager Pat Murphy told Todd Rosiak of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel following the game that the Brewers were in "wait-and-see" mode with the second baseman heading into team's three-game series in St. Louis. Turang looks like he bounced back well from the ailment overnight and will slot back into a new-look Milwaukee lineup. He'll hit out of the No. 3 spot in the order for just sixth time this season while the Brewers welcome two key lineup pieces in Jackson Chourio (hand) and Andrew Vaughn (hand) back from the injured list.
-
Michael Massey KC 2B
Royals' Michael Massey: Sitting Monday
4h agoMassey is not in the Royals' starting lineup against the Guardians on Monday.
Massey will be on the bench for the beginning of Monday's game while Nick Loftin starts at second base and bats ninth. Massey is in the midst of a slump at the plate, having gone 1-for-20 with one steal, one RBI, two runs scored and a 2:7 BB:K over his last seven games.
-
Matt Chapman SF 3B
Giants' Matt Chapman: Not in Monday's lineup
2h agoChapman is not in the Giants' starting lineup against the Padres on Monday.
Chapman has gone 0-for-16 with two walks and seven strikeouts over his last four games, so he'll take a break and begin Monday's game on the bench. Casey Schmitt will start at the hot corner and bat second in the series opener against San Diego.
-
Tanner Murray CHW 3B
White Sox's Tanner Murray: Moved to 60-day IL
3h agoThe White Sox transferred Murray to the 60-day injured list Monday.
The move opens up a spot on the 40-man roster for Randal Grichuk, who signed a one-year major-league deal with the White Sox on Monday. Murray suffered a left shoulder dislocation and fracture while making a diving catch in left field against the Nationals in late April. His recovery timeline was initially set at 4-to-6 months, which means he won't be available to return until at least late August.
-
Eugenio Suarez CIN 3B
Reds' Eugenio Suarez: Upping workouts Monday
4h agoSuarez (oblique) will take grounders on the field and flips in the batting cage Monday, Charlie Goldsmith of Fox 19 Now Cincinnati reports.
Suarez's recovery from a left oblique strain has come along more slowly than expected, but he's ready to start ramping up baseball-related drills. He'll get another MRI later this week when the Reds return home in order to check his progress. Suarez should be ready to rejoin the Reds' active roster by mid-May if all goes well.
-
Coby Mayo BAL 3B
Orioles' Coby Mayo: Exiting starting nine Monday
5h agoMayo is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Yankees, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reports.
Jeremiah Jackson will step in at third base in place of Mayo, who will hit the bench after going 1-for-16 with a 0:7 BB:K over his last six games. The young infielder has already endured multiple lulls in production less than two months into the season and is slashing just .165/.234/.306 while striking out at a 29.8 percent clip over 94 plate appearances. Once the Orioles get the likes of Jackson Holliday (hand) and Jordan Westburg (elbow) back from the injured list, Mayo will be in danger of moving into more of a part-time role, if Baltimore doesn't option him to Triple-A Norfolk.
-
Zach McKinstry DET 3B
Tigers' Zach McKinstry: Could be activated Tuesday
6h agoMcKinstry (hip) has rejoined the Tigers in Detroit and could be activated from the 10-day injured list prior to Tuesday's game versus the Red Sox, Evan Woodbery of MLive.com reports.
McKinstry is 1-for-11 with a home run in his first three rehab contests. He will go through a workout Monday before the Tigers decide whether McKinstry is ready to be activated Tuesday or needs another rehab game or two. The super utility player has missed more than two weeks with left hip/abdominal inflammation.
-
Caleb Durbin BOS 3B
Red Sox's Caleb Durbin: Out of lineup Monday
6h agoDurbin is not in the lineup for Monday's game in Detroit.
It appears to be a routine day off for Durbin, who had started each of the previous 16 contests. The Red Sox will roll out Andruw Monasterio at third base in Monday's series opener.
-
Shay Whitcomb HOU SS
Astros' Shay Whitcomb: Sent to minors
1h agoWhitcomb was optioned to Triple-A Sugar Land on Monday, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.
The Astros needed to promote a catcher ahead of Monday's game against the Dodgers after Yainer Diaz (abdomen) was a late scratch, and Whitcomb will end up being the roster casualty. Whitcomb has struggled to a .077 average with one home run, three RBI and one run scored through 10 games this season.
-
Enrique Hernandez LAD SS
Dodgers' Enrique Hernandez: Rehab assignment this week
2h agoHernandez (elbow) will begin a rehab assignment this week, Bill Plunkett of The Orange County Register reports.
Hernandez is working his way back from surgery on his left (non-throwing) elbow. He is on the 60-day injured list and not eligible to return until May 24, but all signs point to him being activated that day. Once he does make it back, Hernandez will be deployed by the Dodgers against left-handed pitching.
-
Jeremy Pena HOU SS
Astros' Jeremy Pena: Nearing rehab assignment
3h agoPena (hamstring) could begin a rehab assignment this weekend, Chandler Rome of The Athletic reports.
Pena has been shelved since mid-April with a Grade 1 right hamstring strain but appears nearly ready to test things out in a game setting. Since his absence has been relatively brief, Pena should not require too many rehab at-bats before returning to the Astros' active roster.
-
Addison Barger TOR SS
Blue Jays' Addison Barger: Expected back this week
4h agoBlue Jays manager John Schneider said Monday that Barger (ankles) being activated from the 10-day injured list on Friday would be a "worst-case scenario,"Mitch Bannon of The Athletic reports.
Barger slugged a home run in his first rehab game with Single-A Dunedin on Sunday and will suit up for the affiliate once again Tuesday. He could rejoin the Blue Jays after that and be activated as soon as Wednesday, but a return Friday for the start of a homestand seems likelier. Barger has been sidelined since early April after spraining both of his ankles.
-
Zach Dezenzo HOU SS
Astros' Zach Dezenzo: Activated and optioned
4h agoThe Astros activated Dezenzo (elbow) from the 10-day injured list Monday and optioned him to Triple-A Sugar Land.
Dezenzo got a late start to the season after suffering a right elbow sprain during the World Baseball Classic while playing for Team Italy. He's gone 8-for-27 with one home run and a 7:7: BB:K in eight rehab games, and the Astros have elected to keep him in the minors rather than put him back on the major-league roster.
-
Blaze Alexander BAL SS
Orioles' Blaze Alexander: Claiming fourth straight start
5h agoAlexander will start at third base and bat ninth in Monday's game against the Yankees.
Alexander will stick in the lineup for the fourth straight game at his fourth different position, after previously making starts at second base, center field and shortstop. The Orioles will likely continue to make room for Alexander in the lineup versus left-handed pitching, but his opportunities to start against righties may be more sporadic while he maintains a weak .472 OPS over 80 plate appearances on the season.
-
Roman Anthony BOS RF
Red Sox's Roman Anthony: Diagnosed with wrist injury
2h agoAnthony was removed from Monday's game against the Tigers due to right wrist discomfort, Chris Cotillo of MassLive.com reports.
Anthony appeared to tweak his right wrist during his plate appearance in the first inning and was replaced by Masataka Yoshida in the second. Anthony will undergo more tests on his wrist to determine the severity of the injury, by which time the Red Sox should provide an update on the young outfielder's status moving forward.
-
Harrison Bader SF CF
Giants' Harrison Bader: Ready for rehab assignment
2h agoBader (hamstring) will start a rehab assignment with Triple-A Sacramento on Tuesday, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.
Bader has been working through a left hamstring strain that caused him to be placed on the Giants' 10-day injured list in mid-April. He has progressed enough in his recovery to embark on a rehab assignment, and how his hamstring reacts to a more intense workload will dictate when he'll be cleared to return to the majors.
-
Roman Anthony BOS RF
Red Sox's Roman Anthony: Exits with possible wrist injury
2h agoAnthony was removed from Monday's game versus the Tigers with a possible wrist injury, Ian Browne of MLB.com reports.
Anthony tweaked something on a swing during his first plate appearance of the game in the first inning. He finished that at-bat but was then removed in favor of Masataka Yoshida. The Red Sox should have an update on Anthony's condition soon.
-
Will Brennan SF RF
Giants' Will Brennan: Returning to Triple-A
2h agoThe Giants optioned Brennan to Triple-A Sacramento on Monday.
The Giants needed space on the roster after recalling both Jesus Rodriguez and Bryce Eldridge from Triple-A, resulting in Brennan going down to the minors and Jerar Encarnacion being designated for assignment in corresponding moves. Brennan appeared in just five games for the Giants since being recalled in mid-April and went 0-for-9 with two strikeouts across those outings. He'll get more reps in Triple-A, where he is slashing .400/.396/.560 with one home run and 10 RBI in 54 plate appearances.
-
Jarred Kelenic CHW LF
White Sox's Jarred Kelenic: Making third straight start
2h agoKelenic will start in right field and bat seventh in Monday's game against the Angels.
Kelenic didn't start in either of the White Sox's first two games following his promotion from Triple-A Charlotte last Wednesday, but he'll crack the lineup Monday for a third straight contest. All of those starts have come against right-handed pitching, and Kelenic could be tasked with handling a strong-side platoon role in the corner outfield while Everson Pereira (pectoral) and Austin Hays (calf) are on the shelf. The 26-year-old hasn't provided much reason to get excited about his fantasy prospects just yet, going 1-for-6 with a walk and a strikeout through his first three games with Chicago after turning in an .810 OPS with six home runs and seven stolen bases but striking out at a bloated 28.8 percent clip in 26 Triple-A contests.
-
Christian Yelich MIL LF
Brewers' Christian Yelich: Takes batting practice on field
2h agoYelich (groin) took batting practice on the field Monday, Curt Hogg of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.
It's the first time Yelich has taken batting practice on the field with the rest of his teammates since he went down with a left groin strain in mid-April. The Brewers laid out a 4-to-6 week timeline for Yelich's return when the injury occurred, and he looks to be trending toward being activated toward the front-end of that timetable.
-
Trevor McDonald SF SP
Giants' Trevor McDonald: Recalled ahead of Monday's start
2h agoThe Giants recalled McDonald from Triple-A Sacramento ahead of his start against the Padres on Monday.
McDonald served as the Giants' 27th man for Thursday's doubleheader against the Phillies, though he went unused out of the bullpen. Southpaw reliever Erik Miller (back) was placed on the 15-day IL in a corresponding move, so Monday's outing will likely be a spot start for McDonald. The 25-year-old right-hander has appeared in five games (four starts) in Triple-A and has a 5.40 ERA and 1.53 WHIP across 15 innings.
-
Jacob Misiorowski MIL SP
Brewers' Jacob Misiorowski: Throws bullpen session
3h agoMisiorowski (hamstring) threw a bullpen session Monday, Curt Hogg of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.
Misiorowski was forced to exit his last outing Friday against the Nationals with a right hamstring cramp. All signs point to the right-hander making his next scheduled start Wednesday in St. Louis, but the Brewers will wait to see how Misiorowski bounces back from Monday's bullpen session before clearing him.
-
Quinn Priester MIL SP
Brewers' Quinn Priester: Dealing with shoulder soreness
3h agoPriester (wrist) is with the Brewers in St. Louis after being pulled from his rehab assignment due to shoulder soreness, Sophia Minnaert of Brewers.tv reports.
Priester struggled in his last rehab outing with Triple-A Nashville on Friday, when he tossed 62 pitches (37 strikes) and allowed five runs on seven hits (including one homer) and two walks while striking out one batter in just two innings. Brewers manager Pat Murphy told reporters Monday that Priester's recent setback isn't considered a long-term concern, but the 25-year-old right-hander will be reevaluated by medical staff and work with pitching coaches over the coming days to determine a more clear timeline to return.
-
Hunter Brown HOU SP
Astros' Hunter Brown: Could throw off mound this weekend
3h agoBrown (shoulder) could throw a bullpen session as soon as this weekend, Chandler Rome of The Athletic reports.
Brown resumed flat-ground throwing a little over a week ago and might be ready to take another big step in his rehab this weekend. The right-hander is working his way back from a Grade 2 right shoulder strain, and the Astros have tentatively projected him to return by early- to mid-June.
-
Samuel Aldegheri LAA SP
Angels' Sam Aldegheri: Recalled by Halos
3h agoThe Angels recalled Aldegheri from Triple-A Salt Lake on Monday.
Monday marks the second time this season that Aldegheri has been called up to the majors. His lone outing with the Angels this season was April 16 against the Yankees, when he allowed one run on two hits and one walk while striking out two across 1.2 innings, though he was credited with the win for that contest. He'll replace Nick Sandlin on the 26-man roster, the latter of whom was optioned to Salt Lake in a corresponding move.
-
Trey Gibson BAL SP
Orioles' Trey Gibson: Sent down after spot start
3h agoThe Orioles optioned Gibson to Triple-A Norfolk on Monday, Jake Rill of MLB.com reports.
Gibson made his major-league debut with a spot start Sunday against the Yankees, getting charged with three runs on four hits and two walks over 4.2 innings while notching a pair of strikeouts. The right-hander's spot on the active roster will be absorbed by Lou Trivino.
-
Yuki Matsui SD RP
Padres' Yuki Matsui: Slated for Tuesday return
23m agoMatsui (groin) is expected to be activated from the 15-day injured list Tuesday, Sammy Levitt of 97.3 The Fan San Diegoreports.
Matsui is nearing his 2026 debut after suffering a left groin strain in February. He was a solid reliever for the Padres a year ago, collecting a 3.98 ERA and 1.36 WHIP with a 61:33 K:BB and one save across 63.1 regular-season innings.
-
Cole Wilcox SEA RP
-
Gabe Speier SEA RP
Mariners' Gabe Speier: Shelved by shoulder inflammation
2h agoThe Mariners placed Speier on the 15-day injured list Monday with left shoulder inflammation, Ryan Divish of The Seattle Times reports.
It's unclear how long Speier has been bothered by the shoulder issue, but he hasn't pitched since last Wednesday and was not sharp in that outing, retiring just two of six batters. Speier has been a workhorse out of the Seattle bullpen, so it's a sizable loss. He's made 15 appearances this season, posting a 2.92 ERA and 12:5 K:BB over 12.1 frames.
-
Erik Miller SF RP
Giants' Erik Miller: Placed on IL with back strain
2h agoThe Giants placed Miller on the 15-day injured list Monday, retroactive to Friday, due to a lower-back strain.
Miller may have tweaked his back during his last outing against the Phillies on Thursday, when he tossed one scoreless inning and logged one strikeout and a hold. The 28-year-old southpaw dealt with a back issue in spring training, so he may need a longer stint on the IL than the 15-day minimum. Right-hander Trevor McDonald was recalled from Triple-A Sacramento in a corresponding move.
-
Brock Stewart LAD RP
Dodgers' Brock Stewart: Activation imminent
3h agoStewart (shoulder) joined the Dodgers in Houston on Monday and is expected to be activated from the 15-day injured list during their series against the Astros, Bill Plunkett of The Orange County Register reports.
Stewart won't be reinstated Monday after making his final rehab appearance Sunday, but he will return to the active roster as soon as Tuesday. Working his way back from a right shoulder debridement procedure last September, Stewart spun 6.1 scoreless innings with a 13:3 K:BB covering eight rehab outings.
-
Heston Kjerstad BAL DH
Orioles' Heston Kjerstad: Seeking clearance for rehab games
3h agoThe Orioles announced Monday that Kjerstad (hamstring) will be re-evaluated soon to determine his readiness for a rehab assignment, Jacob Calvin Meyer of The Baltimore Sun reports.
Kjerstad hasn't played in a game since he strained his right hamstring back on March 19, but he's finally closing in on a rehab assignment. The 27-year-old is a good bet to remain in the minors once he's activated rather than being added to the Orioles' 26-man active roster.
-
Mark Vientos NYM DH

Eloy Jimenez: Entering free agency
