Athletics' Jed Lowrie: Returns from injured list

Lowrie (shoulder) was reinstated from the injured list Tuesday, Matt Kawahara of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

Lowrie wound up missing slightly more than a month with a left shoulder injury, but he's ready to go after grabbing six hits (including a pair of homers) in five rehab games. The Athletics don't have much incentive to give a ton of at-bats to a 38-year-old on an expiring deal down the stretch, however, so it's unclear how often he'll be in the lineup going forward.
