Athletics' Norge Ruiz: Contract selected by Oakland

Ruiz had his contract selected by the A's on Friday.

Ruiz has a 4.05 ERA, 1.30 WHIP and 38:15 K:BB across 40 innings for Triple-A Las Vegas this season, and he'll now get his first taste of the big leagues. The 28-year-old should operate as a low-leverage reliever.
