Happ (8-3) allowed just an unearned run on three hits over seven innings in Thursday's 13-2 whipping of the Phillies. He struck out five and walked two.

A 2004 third-round draft pick by Philadelphia, Happ spent parts of four seasons with the Phillies before getting shipped off to Houston in 2010 and embarking on a journeyman's career. However, he's found a home in his second go-around with Toronto, delivering a solid 3.41 ERA and 1.15 WHIP thanks in no small part to highly effective work on the road, where he holds a 2.63 ERA. That's the good news; the bad news is that his peripherals scream regression, as Happ's FIP and xFIP are both more than a full run higher than his ERA, with a low strikeout rate, depressed BABIP and tendency to give up homers all playing major factors.
