Dominguez was designated for assignment Tuesday, Ben Nicholson-Smith of Sportsnet reports.

Dominguez failed to record a hit in four at bats since last being recalled from Triple-A Buffalo after being called upon to serve as temporary relief with Josh Donaldson nursing a thumb injury. The 26-year-old is slashing a solid .287/.333/.419 in the minors this season and could see another stint in the majors if the parent club finds themselves in need of infield depth.
