Diamond pitched five innings in a minor league game Friday, allowing only one run on four hits while striking out five and collecting the win.

Diamond spent all of 2015 on Triple-A Durham in the Rays organization, posting an 11-6 record with a 3.71 ERA in over 150 innings. The 29-year-old has not seen the mound in the big leagues since 2013 with the Twins when he recorded 131 innings with a 5.43 ERA and a 1.52 WHIP. Diamond did have a great, albeit brief, spring training, logging four innings of scoreless baseball while only allowing one hit. Since he hasn't seen time in the majors since 2013, it is unlikely that Diamond will find a spot in the bullpen with the Blue Jays this season without months of stellar play on the mound for Triple-A Buffalo.
