Atlanta selected Dodd's contract Monday, calling him up from Triple-A Gwinnett.
Dodd has been expected to start Tuesday's matchup versus the Cardinals for a while a now and he is now officially on track to toe the rubber. The 24-year-old southpaw wasn't a significant prospect entering spring training this year, but he has added a couple ticks to his fastball, which now sits in the mid-90s. Dodd had a 2.00 ERA, 1.06 WHIP and 20 strikeouts in 18 innings this spring and could stick in the rotation if he pitches well.
