Chavez had his contract selected by Atlanta on Thursday.
Chavez re-signed with Atlanta on a minor-league deal in November, and he grabbed a spot on the Opening Day roster after giving up four earned runs with a 10:2 K:BB across 8.1 innings during spring training. The veteran right-hander had a 3.76 ERA in 69.1 frames last year and should fill a middle-relief role out of the bullpen in 2023.
