Ervin cleared waivers Saturday and was outrighted to Atlanta's alternate site, David O'Brien of The Athletic reports.
Ervin's .247/.322/.406 slash line through 660 career plate appearances at the highest level is nothing special, but it's still somewhat surprising that none of the other 29 teams found him worthy of at least a fifth outfielder spot. He'll remain a depth option in Atlanta going forward.
