Cardinals' Scott Hurst: DFA'd Saturday

The Cardinals designated Hurst for assignment Saturday.

The move opens a 40-man roster spot and allows Brandon Waddell (illness) to be reinstated from the COVID-19 injured list. Hurst has struggled considerably with Triple-A Memphis this season, slashing .186/.289/.270 with 13 extra-base hits and 13 RBI in 251 plate appearances.
