Chambers will receive a 50-game suspension after testing positive for performance-enhancing drugs, Jenifer Lagosch of MLB.com reports.

Chambers did slash .280/.358/.375 in 261 at-bats with Triple-A Iowa this season, but the 29-year-old only managed to hit one home run. He had a brief cup of coffee with the Cardinals in 2011, 2012 and 2013, but he hasn't been able to crack a major league roster since then and this suspension guarantees he won't play with any major league club for part of 2016.
