Cubs' Koji Uehara: Dealing with knee infection

Uehara is dealing with a right knee infection, Carrie Muskat of MLB.com reports.

He threw a simulated game Wednesday, but it is unclear when he will be able to return to game action. Uehara has not pitched since Sept. 2, so this helps explain his absence. The 42-year-old righty has a 3.98 ERA, 1.16 WHIP and 50 strikeouts in 43 innings this season and will be a free agent after the year.
