Cubs' Ryan Kalish: DFA'd by Cubs on Saturday

Kalish was designated for assignment by the Cubs on Saturday, Paul Sullivan of the Chicago Tribune reports.

Kalish was added to the 40-man roster and called up from Triple-A Iowa on May 3, but he'll now be subject to waivers, as the Cubs needed to free up a roster spot for Miguel Montero, who came off the DL on Saturday. If Kalish passes through the waiver process unclaimed, he'll almost certainly land back in Iowa.
