Giants' Colton Welker: Removed from 40-man roster

Welker (shoulder) was designated for assignment by the Giants on Tuesday.

Welker was claimed off waivers by San Francisco after he underwent season-ending shoulder surgery in June, but he won't retain his spot on the 40-man roster through the offseason. The 25-year-old made his MLB debut with the Rockies in 2021 and went 7-for-37 in 19 games.
