Thomas is not in the starting lineup for Friday's contest against Milwaukee.
Jhonkensy Noel will start in right field and bat seventh against Brewers right-hander Aaron Civale. Thomas has slashed .104/.204/.146 with one stolen base and a 38.9 percent strikeout rate across 53 plate appearances since being acquired by the Guardians in late July.
